fajrdrako: ([Torchwood] - Jack)
[personal profile] fajrdrako

After a mild, rainy week, we woke up this morning to freezing rain. In the time it took me to come to work, it went from freezing rain to hail to rather nice fluffy snow.

Not, you understand, that we need any more snow.

We've got it anyway.

Winter in Ottawa is an ongoing adventure.

Ahaah It snowed for a bit here too! Not much though, happily. As you said, it's not like we need more... It's still a bit of an adventure to walk on the streets...

BTW? Have I pointed you to [community profile] tammy_awards?

No - that looks like fun. A good place to browse for what's good. Thank you!

*giggles* the Tammys are fun; the two first categories for the next Red Carpet ceremony are up, the other three will probably be coming today/tomorrow.

And the ceremony? Let's say it's a sweetly huge all-muses-all-fandoms-watch-your-back-and-laugh-our-shoes-off event...

From: [identity profile] kikibug13.livejournal.com
Hee! Last ceremony, in the summer (June, I think), there was a HILARIOUS commentary going between Sylar and an OC. And [personal profile] rude_not_ginger got a bunch of the golden asses - including for, um, most hilarious couple... with another version of Ten, [profile] fluffnfreckles. And best threesome, with a version of the Rani and a version of Nine. And...
um. yeah.

the Tammys are fun.

Oh, there were people throwing pies at one another too. Oscar Wilde threw one at Snake Plissken - who in turn tried to shoot him with his gun (well, didn't try for a good aim too much...) ...
yeah. And considering that we have even more fun muses this time around, I think it will be fun. Again.

The mental images make it worth reading, if nothing else.

(Seems to me that Aral Vorkosigan would really, really like Snake Plissken... naw, I didn't just start thinking about that, did I?)

Lovely Hiro icon!

*nodnodnodnod* Not to mention that joining in is ALSO possible.

(Seems to me you could be right. Then again, Snake is so all-around awesome... lol [profile] _call_me_snake_ is a fantabulous muse. I do think him and Aral would get along (eventually) well. Heh. He even had a thread with Legolas...)

HEE! And I've not added to mine, but I can't avoid loving this one:

If only I had more time. Whimper.

Snake is so all-around awesome...

True!

I can't recalled if I've linked to [livejournal.com profile] _call_me_snake_; I've read and enjoyed some of his stuff, but I'm not keeping up with anyone or anybody... least of all my own bedraggled muses. (Which is okay: when I don't have time for them, Gwen just gets herself into more trouble, which is normal, and Aral just drinks too much, which is also normal.)

That icon is brilliant! It is... incredibly funny.

Ahahaha well the ceremony lasts... usually is over within a weekend, and you don't have to be following it exactly ALL of the time. Right now, it's just voting, and that's, well, one-off. Especially for these two sections, which are mostly visual sleaze. The last two sections are what I'm looking forward to.

And LOL Snake! Just win. (haha did you know that he's married to Xena? Each time I think of that and I Laugh. Out. Loud. (well, or at least smirk in a don't-you-love-RP kinda way)
... When are you going to, when you have time, tell about the trouble Gwen gets herself into? *loves Gwen's posts, but wouldn't mind some action either ;) *

hehe YES IT IS! [profile] vote4nathan is where I saw it. ;)

ETA: [profile] james_nicoll has posted a link to preliminary Nebula ballot. and YES, Blink is on it. *goes off-stage, squeeing*

omg! I just got finished voting in the first two sections over there. XD You had me confused for a sec, too, because I didn't expect to see mention of the Tammys on my OOC flist. (...did I just say 'omg'? oh, dear.)

*bouncebouncebounce* [profile] singchristine. Also, [personal profile] stolehispurse. And [personal profile] pinkhairedauror/[profile] littlemorelove. And I'm working on apping a Torchwood OC, so I might get to play with you lot a bit more...

Ohh! We've interacted a bit already, then. :D Nice to meet you proper!

And hey, if the OC happens (or even it doesn't, I suppose), Ianto is always available for RP.

From: [identity profile] kikibug13.livejournal.com
*nodnod* we have! And I love your writing!! Wotcher, I'm ... er. Kalina. LOL

That OC needs a bit of clearing up, 'cause it was my very first muse, and now upon revisiting her, I've made her rather Mary Sue-ish, and I want to clear that up before I app her for [profile] relativespace. She'll be around on sixwordstories too. Um... yeah, one of these days I'll get in touch with you to see if she should have some common back story with Ianto.

Oh, and re the same journal on two writing comms? You shouldn't have worried. It's a normal practice actually; that way people can keep track of their writing, focusing it. Tonks is on... four writing comms (TM, thetenspot, and two others in that model), several fics-comms that are Tonks or Remus/Tonks oriented, and any number of RP comms. I found [personal profile] rude_not_ginger's way of labeling and tagging entries by comms / timelines very convenient.
BTW? I may have mentioned it before, but your Ianto - having read work from both journals - ROCKS!

Date: 2008-01-12 08:17 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] halfspokenwords.livejournal.com
Hi, Kalina! I'm Zara. Thank you for your many kind words! :)

Well, I know that some people do it, and I did debate for a while before deciding to do seperate journals. I think I could have gone either way.

I save my WIPs in private posts, so it is nice to be able to spread them out-- rather than having to wade through a whole slew of private posts on one journal! Part of it was RP, too-- one of my RP partners was getting jealous/upset at the prospect of me joining Realms and RPing with a different version of her character... And less drama is always good, so...

And re: [livejournal.com profile] sixwordstories, I've slowly been throwing my lesser-played Who muses in that direction, so you may run into others as well. XD

I must look into [livejournal.com profile] rudenotginger's labelling and tagging system. Even with just Aral and Gwen and a limited number of comms, I'm not sure how to keep track of everying.

And I totally agree that the Ianto that [livejournal.com profile] halfspokenwords has on [livejournal.com profile] coffeemagic and [livejournal.com profile] hofficoffi is wonderful. It quite revived my faith and love of muse sites. Her characterization of Ianto is lovely.

(I think I might even love her Ianto more than the one on the show. But he's lovely too.)

[livejournal.com profile] hofficoffi is relatively new. I suppose I don't really need two Ianto journals, but one journal in two prompt communities seemed like an overwhelming proposition. You're welcome to friend!

Aw, thank you-- I adore writing him, but I admit that I'm still surprised when I discover that other people read my prompts/threads! And we really ought to set up some Gwen-Ianto interaction, especially once S2 gets going.

"Need" is not the operative word here. I heartily approve of you having two Ianto journals, because I think you've got just the right tone for Ianto - Ianto as I most love him. And I'm heartily looking forward to Ianto in the coming season. What we've seen in the clips so far is wonderful.

You're welcome to friend!

I intend to do so as soon as I get a moment - as [livejournal.com profile] torchwoodgwen.

I'm still surprised when I discover that other people read my prompts/threads!

Me too.

we really ought to set up some Gwen-Ianto interaction, especially once S2 gets going.

I'd love to. Maybe start with post-show conversations or interactions?

*loves startling people*

No kidding. I think [livejournal.com profile] pinkhairedauror has allowed you to let out the inner [livejournal.com profile] kikibug13. Either that or Tonks is infecting you and taking over your personality by her evil imaginative influence.

I've always been puzzled by [livejournal.com profile] teatrical_muse and other muse-type etiquette. It is okay to link muse items to my regular LJ? I'd like to but it seems other people don't. I was waiting to see if I figured it all out by osmosis, but I guess my osmosis isn't working too well.

*giggles* Oy, I've always loved surprising people. Tonks just helped me get better at it. *looves making people laugh, over and over again*

Ah, that. *points at own journal profiles, as well as others* you may, and you can. It's a personal choice. SOMETIMES people prefer to keep their muses separate, and have people NOT be influenced by who their other muses are; others just don't mind. And sometimes some people prefer that others don't know 'that new muse' is theirs, and such.

If you want to, by all means do. Those who don't tend to have specific reasons not to. Me, I think I've linked my mun journal on all main muses profiles, and have listed the main four (well... more or less main) on the mun journal. That's fine. *prefers openness to secrecy, oh yes*

Thank you for the encouragement. I will indeed post links to my muse-fic from my LJ - when I get around to it.

Haha you MAY recall that we discussed how I couldn't usually pull of crack, over on [community profile] tw100... ;) and no, she usually doesn't care when people glare at her - she's likely to either glare back, or make a face. Like, a pig's nozzle... ? of course.

*nodnod* Some people who stay quiet do it 'cause they have either witnessed or have been victims of OOC drama (ugh. I honestly wish you never to have to deal with that!). Also, sometimes it's easier to interact with muses when you don't know who's behind them, then the interaction is purely in character - the muse's reaction, not yours. Then again, with the best muns out there it just doesn't make a difference. *grins* And I for one find all the AIM / ooc banter totally lovely.

There are many, many reasons to love Tonks.

Some people who stay quiet do it 'cause they have either witnessed or have been victims of OOC drama

I would want to avoid that. I am usually pretty good at avoiding that. But... it's a reason to keep a low profile.
