Call it a day...

Rotten day: started out with an early-morning mammogram. Poked and prodded and squished.

Then: long wait at an incredibly cold bus stop.

Then: Aches and pains of all sorts at work. Abdominal pain, headache, aching eyes....

Good evening: commodorified, iclysdale and auriaephiala came over. We ate lentil soup, cheese, crackers, bread, and salad, and watched the latest episode of Torchwood ("Dead Man Walking") and then episode 3 of Due South ("Diefenbaker's Day Off").

And we talked.

commodorified may be the only person I know who has read all Dorothy Dunnett's Johnson Johnson books, but none of the historicals. I wonder if she has read "The Proving Climb".

Sadly, Lymond sounds as if he would make me want to slap. But we shall see.

Some people have that reaction. Incomprehensible to me, but there you have it. If you do, please don't tell me! Just lie through your teeth and say you haven't read the books, and carry on.
