Adventure isn't hanging on a rope off the side of a mountain. Adventure is an attitude that we must apply to the day-to-day obstacles of life: facing new challenges, seizing new opportunities, testing our resources against the unknown and, in the process, discovering our own unique potential. - John Amatt

Natasha Eloi of SPACE TV discusses an interview with John Barrowman on the SPACE website. I'm sure that if the interview had any substance at all - you know, like questions and answers - we will be seeing and hearing about it on SPACE. This website piece is mostly about the interviewer being dazzled (understandably) and all the giggling, teasing and leg-touching that came out of it in fine Barrowman fashion. But she doesn't like the braces'n'britches look on Captain Jack - heresy!

I wasn't just sitting around my computer looking for Barrowman pictures when I should be working on things like housework. No, not me. I was checking something important: to see when Torchwood was airing on SPACE because I couldn't remember. It's next Friday at 8 p.m., with a nice online trailer. Much nicer than anything the CBC had last year, but they treated Torchwood like an unloved stepson. Way to go, SPACE.

It isn't clear to me from the website why the premiere is two hours. Are they putting "Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang" together with "Sleeper"?

Another comic con report, this one linked from [livejournal.com profile] torchwood_three, a community I am constantly grateful to - thanks again to the wonderful people who do such thorough listings there.

A quote I hadn't heard before:
Barrowman, for his part, lamented that Captain Jack himself doesn’t get a lot of [sexual] action. 'He keeps his coat on,' Mori said.

'Coat sex, safe sex,' Barrowman agreed.
I'm not sure that follows. Maybe it's a 51st century thing....

And when Barrowman was told he was getting his own series with Torchwood:
Gardner said that she and Barrowman were in a bar in central London when she broke the news, and [he was so excited] she literally had to put her hand over the actor’s mouth to keep him from making a scene.
I have a suspicion that isn't the first time this has happened to John Barrowman. Or the last.

And from Pop Culture Zoo again, a list of writers coming up: Russell T. Davies confirmed for episodes one and five, James Moran for episode three and John Fay scripting the rest.. I don't know anythign about John Fay, but a new writer sounds like a good idea. I see that wikipedia has titles now for the first three series 3 episodes, citing Torchwood magazine as its source: "Cold Blooded" by Davies, "Round the Twist" by Fay, and "Storm Warning" by Moran.

Is it too early to be excited yet?
