They're nuts at amazon.ca.

I'd ordered myself a copy of Doctor Who: The Writer's Tale by Russell T Davies because, well, I can't live without it. Understandable, right?

Two days ago I got a message saying the couldn't get it but they would continue to try. I almost cancelled the order so I could order it at amazon.co.uk or amazon.com, which would be at a much higher price. While dithering through the next day (because I really can't afford the higher-priced order) I got another message from amazon.ca saying they would ship it to me in late December or early January. I was disappointed, since I was hoping to read it before that, but hey, better late than never.

Then I got a message today to say it had already shipped.

Okay, okay, I'm not complaining. I'm happy. But... confused.

Let's hope they don't change their minds again.

Well that's hopeful. I got a note from amazon.us today that mine is delayed. Hopefully the delay will be just as short.

Hopefully they're just as confused as amazon.ca is, and it will be in the mail tomorrow!

Maybe they're assuming that, because Canada Post is on strike, you might not *receive* it until late December...

I do all of my european book buying through bookdirectory.com

Most of the time its free shipping and they don't screw you about like amazon does.

Just a tip. :)

I can't even find a site at that address - it won't come up for me.

This (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/7736130.stm) is interesting: some Whovian prehistory.

I got a note saying pretty much the same thing from amazon.ca, then they told me it would ship in December.

It was outside my door last night.
