I read about this in the Telegraph. (http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/toby_harnden/blog/2008/11/02/sarah_palin_gets_pranked_by_canadian_radio_station) Even more surprising is the paragraph where Tony Harden writes:
It's incredible that two comedians could get through to a vice-presidential candidate, though Sarkozy himself is a previous victim. Way back in 1995 I remember writing about the Queen getting tricked in the same way by a Canadian prankster.
What frightens me is that stunts like this one, and the Tina Fey parodies, might be making Palin more popular with the voters. She becomes a celebrity, and I've noticed that a lot of my country(wo)men care more about celebrities AS celebrities than they do about reality.
What a total sap she is. But, hey, her spokesperson knows some French!
I commend them on a prank well done. No kidding: I am vastly impressed. I've done some stuff in my day, and appreciate a good stunt, and this was one. Yow. But, still...
