This New York Times article about current TV shows is fun. I went to it for the Torchwood mention - which is a big spoiler if you haven't seen the end of series 2 yet, and most Canadians haven't.

I was amused by their easy acceptance of slash:
HOUSE (Fox, Sept. 16) Will prime time’s most unhealthy, obsessive love affair — the one between Dr. House (Hugh Laurie) and Dr. Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard) — survive the fact that House was instrumental in Wilson’s girlfriend’s death? Early episodes are inconclusive, but we all know that they’ll patch things up somehow.

I don't like the comments on Heroes at all. Sounds like more new characters (faugh) and focus on the old characters I didn't like (Maya). Ah well: gives me an excuse not to watch, when I don't have time anyway. Who am I kidding? Of course I'll watch, initially at least, if only to see how Nathan Petrelli survives - and because I want to see Peter Petrelli again.

My sympathies, [livejournal.com profile] trialia.

I watch House, too, but here in the States they've been showing teasers for the season premiere for weeks. So you didn't spoil anything for me, [livejournal.com profile] fajrdrako. I'm kind of looking forward to watching Wilson attempt to develop a backbone [g].

I'm glad I didn't spoil anything for it. It's confusing to keep track of what's been shown, and where - especially when you don't even know what season a show is in or what the storyline is about.

Well, like I said, I'm really regretting not having done the whole Dr. Who/Torchwood thing in order. But as far as current American TV series are concerned, I really don't have much choice [g]. Which is probably just as well.

I would recommend watching Torchwood series 2 in order if you can - especially the episodes "Reset", "Dead Man Walking" and "A Day in the Death" - I'm not sure how much sense they would make out of order. And then "Fragments" sort of sets up the action of "Exit Wounds".

On the other hand, the order in which you watch the episodes of Torchwood really doesn't matter all that much. Each is mostly self-contained in terms of plot.

Okay, you're confusing me. Am I supposed to watch Torchwood in order or not? [eg]

Oops - yes, that was confusing, wasn't it? I'm saying that order doesn't really matter *except that* there are two story-arcs that would make most sense in order - the Reset/Dead Man Walking/A Day in the Death being one, and Fragments/Exit Wounds the other.

Ah. Got it. I'll probably watch Season 2 in order, anyway, since I can.
