They've announced the songs on John Barrowman's upcoming CD, which will be available in November, called Music Music Music. The title makes me laugh.

The songs are:
    1. What About Us
    2. From A Distance
    3. You'll Think Of Me
    4. I Made It Through The Rain
    5. You Don't Have To Say
    6. Right Here Waiting For You
    7. Uptown Girl
    8. Both Sides Now
    9. Angel
    10. I Know Him So Well
    11. I Am What I Am
    12. Can't Take My Eyes Off You
I am particularly excited about 11 and 12, which are two of my favourites; is "You Don't Have to Say" the Andrew Lloyd Webber song from Jesus Christ Superstar"? I don't know the first five at all, or don't know them by title.

Which brings me to the list of songs I'd like to hear John Barrowman record:
  1. Smoke Gets in Your Eyes
  2. I Will Wait For You
  3. Till There was You
  4. Embraceable You
  5. I Only Have Eyes for You
  6. Put Your Head on My Shoulder
  7. King of the Road
  8. There's No Business Like Show Business
  9. Hey There, from The Pajama Game
  10. The Doctor and I - a variation of The Wizard and I, which he sang in concert earlier this year.
I could go on... and on...

First *squee* I love that John and I are almost the same age because it means we like so many of the same songs.

Second, for some reason they cut off half the song title - You Don't Have To Say is You Don't Have To Say You Love Me, most famously recorded by Dusty Springfield but there is also a lovely version by Elvis (if you like Elvis - I do sometimes and this is one of those times).

From A Distance was recorded by Bette Midler a few years back.

I would say he would do I Know Him So Well as a solo - I have a CD of Elaine Paige's where she does the same and it's a lovely recording. I think she may have changed a line or two so it worked better as a solo and there were background vocals for the "Wasn't it good/wasn't he fine?" parts but it worked for her, I'm sure it would work as well for John.

And I believe the first one is the one Gary Barlow wrote for John.

Of course not - delighted you dropped by.

You Don't Have To Say is You Don't Have To Say You Love Me

Oh! suddenly it all makes sense to me. Duh - I didn't twig. I should have: I like that song.

I can hardly wait to hear it.
