Today's 'quote of the day' list had two quotes I knew well, and loved, but I never knew who said them:
Work like you don't need the money. Love like you've never been hurt. Dance like nobody's watching.
and
Sometimes I sits and thinks, and sometimes I just sits.
Turns out both are from Leroy "Satchel" Paige, 1906 - 1982, an American baseball player.

I saw someone attributing that first one to Mark twain the other day, but I was fairly sure that was wrong.

There are some quotes that become well-known, without the name of their originator being attached. These are always fun to track down - and sometimes that's impossible to do. Sometimes it's a sort of legendary things. So many quotes from that master of quotations, Anon.

I suppose if you're going to guess at who said a good line, Mark Twain is a likely bet, along with Oscar Wilde, Winston Churchill, and Groucho Marx.
