Reconsideration

Funny how things changed. On first meeting him, Mickey'd thought Captain Jack Harkness an insufferable prick, and the world revolved around Rose.

Now, as they walked out of The Black Pig, Mickey liked the feel of Jack's arm around his shoulders. Jack also held Martha, the loveliest woman in the world. Jack was remarkably steady between them. Mickey liked that. Maybe he was more like Ricky than he'd thought. He'd enjoyed the promising warmth of Jack's hand on his thigh, inside the pub. Mickey grinned, remembering. Jack and Martha grinned back.

Life at Torchwood was looking better all the time.

Drabbles are fun when you want to write something off the cuff, and quickly.

A writing tactic I don't have in my skills file... with fiction. However, I once wrote a paper in two hours and fifteen minutes which got a solid A grade. That was... interesting.

Yeah, I've done that. It's a sort of envelope-pushing thing. And can sometimes be done more easily than at other times.

It flowed. I was at a computer with a connection to the university library, so I looked up papers, took pieces from them, wrote the citations, and the paper just appeared in front of me. However, it also pointed up how little the class was challenging me [g]. Still, it was satisfying to be able to construct the paper like that; felt delicious, actually. Quite satisfying indeed.

More than anything else, I wish I could do that at will - write so the words flow. I used to be able to do it far, far better than I can now, and I don't know why.

Not that it really matters. One does what one can, when one can.
