I don't know if I believe anything I read in The Sun, but the picture is cool.

The significant point is that it's the first thing I've read or heard that implies that Captain Jack Harkness might appear in series 4 Doctor Who.

Captain Jack (John Barrowman), new assistant Donna (Catherine Tate), old travelling companion Sarah Jane Smith (Elisabeth Sladen) and Rose’s mum Jackie (Camille Coduri) were also on the set.

I'm hoping. I'm really, really hoping.

And I must confess, I'm smiling at the notion of Jack meeting Jackie.

You know, I didn't like Donna much in The Runaway Bride, but the idea of Jack meeting Donna has me chortling for some reason?

Not that we have any idea yet of who will meet whom in the story but...

Overall the story in The Sun matches 100% with the set reports & pix that have been on Outpost Gallifrey's forum this week -- which are actually more detailed, *very* *very* spoilery for last episode action. Companion-palooze, plus Doctor-whump. Course what it all actually means is still a big ??

I'm trying to avoid spoilers, and so haven't been looking there. I saw a few spoilers last year that I was very sorry to have seen; and they were misleading anyway. So I'm being careful.

But - so happy to have this good news! Even if he's just in it a little but, he's in it!

I'd love to see Jack and Ten on better and friendlier terms. I'd love to see Jack get some time with Ten - quality TARDIS time, as it were. It wouldn't need to be time away from Torchwood - that's what Time Travel is good for.

Daleks? Are Daleks involved? You've heard more spoilers than I have, obviously! I will now pretend I didn't hear what you just said. Fingers in ears and all that.

Up until series 3 I loved Daleks. They were in my favourite episodes - "Dalek", "The Parting of the Ways", and "Doomsday". Then we got "Daleks in Manhattan" and my love of Daleks took an abrupt nose-dive and disappeared. I now hope I never see a Dalek again. Except in those aforementioned episodes.

But of course we will. To use RTD's favourite word, they're iconic.

So if/when they return, I hope it's a good script and a good story.

Aww, thanks! I wish I could take credit for its brilliance. Theta was the Doctor's nickname at the Academy. The icon is of a young William Hartnell (my favorite Doctor) in Edwardian gear and long Doctor-ish hair.
