There's a mystery series in which the husband [who was a cop or some such, iirc] retired & started collecting teddy bears. Then there's a murder at the teddy-bear con. I saw it in the library, but don't remember the title or author.
What a plot! Conventions are always good settings for murders. Mind you, even though I've seen this a few times in murder novels, I've never (thank goodness) encountered a real murder at a real convention.
