Interesting interview with Christopher Eccleston in SCI FI Weekly. His wry, noncommittal style always makes me smile. For instance:
Question: What compelled you to sign on for The Dark Is Rising?
Eccleston: It was paid work.
Really, I'm sure they'd give him more paid work as Claude on Heroes, and I'd love to see it.
Question: What did you make of working with your director, David Cunningham?
Eccleston: Mr. Cunningham and myself are very different animals, but we got the job done.
I still haven't entirely decided whether I want to see The Seeker - and I must say, I'm glad they renamed it, it makes it feel less like a corruption of the book. On the other hand, why do I care? I didn't much like the book. But... on principle, I care.

So why go to a movie about a theme I don't like, with trailers that didn't draw me, from a book I didn't like? Because it's Christopher Eccleston, of course.

With, I predict, not much screen time.

But though nothing else in the trailer appeals to me, Eccleston looks irresistible.

He is *such* a Northerner.

If you want to see it, wait until after opening weekend. Opening weekend matters in sales.

I still don't know if I want to see the movie - I just want to see Eccleston.

I really need a cut of Elizabeth that is the Good Bits Version: just Eccleston, Rush, Diego Maradona. Maybe somebody could do the same cut of Seeker for all of us.

It would be an act of kindness.
