Your Doctor Who Character Is...?
Jul. 24th, 2007 01:07 pmOkay, my jaw dropped at this. And not in a bad way. I am, in fact, flattered, though mildly incredulous.
I was shooting for Captain Jack.

I got this from

Date: 2007-07-24 06:06 pm (UTC)Captain Jack Harkness 100%
Rose Tyler 100%
Sarah Jane Smith 100%
so the moral of the story is that i'm in love with myself while i ultimatley abandon myself, can't look at myself and have unresolved issues with myself.
seems about right.

Date: 2007-07-24 06:10 pm (UTC)Frankly, I can't think why we both scored high on Sarah Jane Smith. She's a great person and a fine protagonist but... I don't see her characteristics in us. She's so much more sensible than we are.

And some part of you is stuck in an alternate universe forever?
Come to think of it... yeah, sounds about right.

Date: 2007-07-25 01:25 pm (UTC)I just watched the first episode of the sarah jane adventures and she's by far more sensible than i am, if i were dealing with alien life, i'm sure i'd have to fight off the torchwood approach of sex and carnage.
By the way, i just got the last three seasons of doctor who and season one of torchwood on my laptop: it's half your fault, half my fault and half bad at fractions.

Date: 2007-07-25 02:02 pm (UTC)I love the people who are getting equal percentages of two characters who have absolutely nothing in common, like the Doctor and Jackie Tyler. Pause to boggle at the implications.

Me too. Not that I would fight off Captain Jack but I'd probably be just as good at getting stupidly into trouble as Gwen is. Or Toshiko. Or Owen. Ianto's approach to trouble is a little more circumspect.

Moment of pride
half my fault and half bad at fractions.
But not as bad as the makers of this quiz.

Date: 2007-07-24 07:03 pm (UTC)No, I don't like Mickey much either, though I like his role in the story and his character development.
I had to think for a minute to remember who Henriette was - the woman I didn't like in Casanova. But she might be good as a point of view to write about, because she seemed on top of things. Still. The character I loved was Bellino.
And yes, it was a compliment, and you're welcome.

Date: 2007-07-24 07:09 pm (UTC)Actually, even a Jack Harkness tagged in on her rather recent meme, and that startled me (pleasantly, of course, only I had to figure out how to fit him in...)
And I still don't like her much. (though writing her has made me come up with justifications for her actions and all that. I don't think I could choose as she did. And yet me writing her works...)

Date: 2007-07-24 07:13 pm (UTC)As for Henriette and Reinette... were they really contemporaries? That's so cool! Though I confess I'd rather have Reinette meet Giacomo (or Bellino) than Henriette.
Suddenly I want to write a Doctor/Bellino fic.

Date: 2007-07-24 07:27 pm (UTC)And some day when all three muns are free and have nothing better to do, I am planning to have a Reinette/Henriette/Giac thing happening. Maybe just conversation, of course (but then, it's Giac!)
So far, there has been a brief Role Play between my Henriette and Reinette, and Reinette was very cordial... ah well. Henriette lives in a world of her own. Interesting thing is, other role players like her. :) SO I try to keep it up.
Ah well. And Jack/everybody is so canon! (then again, the key was to have her somehow consent to do something with him that in canon she didn't consent to do with Giac, whom she also loved. Then again, it's a meme... not strictly canon - and also, for that meme Giac requested eight fics... I ran dry at four and he took mercy; but when a second Tenth doctor tagged, it was a challenge!)

Date: 2007-07-24 07:31 pm (UTC)I like the notion of Captain Jack roaming the 18th century. A Jack Absolute sort of thing. He'd fit, even though we've been trained to associate him with World War II.
Reinette would be coridial: ever the gentlewoman, always with hidden depths and fires.

Quite how that is even possible, Captain Jack and Mickey, is beyond me. *g*

Date: 2007-07-25 01:29 pm (UTC)Well, yes, actually I can. Two things. A love of Rose. And an evolution from cowardice to heroism under the influence of the Doctor. (Though truly, I think Jack was never a coward, except perhaps in his own estimation. And Mickey never recognized himself as such.)

Or the Doctor and the Dalek?

Btw, here's the latest on Martha:

Also, I posted this in your last Heroes thread, but I wanted to make sure you got it. After you finish the Betty novels, the next cycle features Claude:

Date: 2007-07-25 01:13 pm (UTC)So Martha will be 'in a relationship' - with Tom Milligan, I suppose. I like him. I don't like the idea of the Martha/Doctor relationship remaining unresolved - but that kind of revision is what fanfic is for, right?
Claude! Yay!

Date: 2007-07-25 11:46 pm (UTC)That's how a number of Classic companions left him, though. In fact, Jo Grant (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jo_Grant) even told Three that the man she left him for (her future husband) reminded her of a younger version of him.
