fajrdrako: (Veronica Mars)

I hadn't seen the last five episodes of Veronica Mars. There was a sort of hiatus, at least on the station where I get it, and I taped it but hadn't watched it. I love the show, usually can't wait for the next episode - and Sheila said she wanted to discuss it with me, had asked me half a dozen times if I'd see it yet. No. Why not?

Two contradictory reasons. One is that I am rather seriously hooked on the Veronca/Logan relationship. Things didn't look good when last I'd watched; I was afraid of seeing it go wrong. I don't trust producers.

The other reason was that I didn't want it all to be over. If this is it for Veronica Mars, I wanted to delay the end.

Then last night I took the plunge and watched episodes 3.16 and 3.17. "Un-American Graffiti" had a plot about the vandalization of a restaurant owned by people originally from Iraq; it was fine, but I was somewhat more interested in the subplot where Keith Mars, as acting sheriff of Neptune, goes after bars selling liquor to minors. The best moment is when he catches Wallace and Piz drinking illegally, using fake ID created by Veronica. And of course I was interested in the progress (or lack thereof) of the relationship between Logan and Veronica. I loved it as much as ever - and while "Papa's Cabin" had left me feeling discouraged about it, this episode renewed hope. Not that Logan and Veronica show any signs of getting back together, or even actually talking to each other, but that's okay. Who would want it to be easy?

I liked the plot "Debasement Tapes" somewhat more - though I thought the resolution of the story about drunken former rock star Desmond Fellows was unconvincing. Still: I enjoyed it thoroughly, especially the storyline about Logan.

Today I got home from work and settled down to watch episode 3.18, "I know what you'll do Next Summer", and discovered I don't have it.

Damn.

I hope Sheila recorded it.

Veronica/Logan is just about the only het/canon couple I ship, 'cause, well, they just belong together, you know? and Logan is the sweetest boyfriend ever, in his overly violent way...

Oh, yes, I certainly do! Might be the only het canon couple I really care about. Starbuck/Lee Adama is kind of cool but they certainly don't belong together! In "Firefly" I love the relationship between Mal and Inarra but don't see any resolution to it (or particularly want one).

I wondered why you called Logan "overly violent" then watched the last few episodes, and yes - sweetest violent boyfriend ever!

He's a sort of knight in shining armour in disguise. He does anger so beautifully.

Oh so true on the Logan/Veronica thing..god I miss Veronica Mars, the fools that cancelled it *argh* anyway, what I'll miss most is snarky Veronica and violent but emo Logan. Man I'd have that guy beat up ppl just for entertainment. He sure does know how to prove his love and devotion.

If my comp allow I'll download the ep and upload it for you on sendspace or megaupload or something. =) I heart that you love VM!

They never even showed it consistently in Canada - a season on one station, another season on another (of course on another day and time). It deserved so much more!

I wondered why you called Logan 'violent'. Then I acquired and watched the last two episodes. Yes! And I applauded him. Love that man.

I adore Veronica Mars, and was so upset when they finally decided to cancel it. It's (was) one of the very few shows out there that's both funny and intelligent, and that doesn't take itself seriously. I shall miss it very much. I haven't seen the last six eps yet (they're on my external harddrive, which is in a box somewhere in storage, waiting to be shipped to my new home), but I'm not sure I really want to see them now, for the same reasons as you. I love Veronica/Logan (like the previous poster said, they belong together), and would hate to see them not getting back together (I didn't read all of your post, so don't say anything!). And, obviously, I don't want it to end. I have done this with a lot of TV shows I've loved; taped the last few eps and then holding off watching them for months, until I've forgotten what happened in the hsow and have to watch it all over again. Anyway, I'm ranting here. My point is this: Veronica Mars rocks, and I'm glad you think so too. :-)

Yes, it has just the right balance of both. And I loved Veronica's attitude - her combination of courage and determination.

I've watched them now, and I'm glad I did.

I certainly think so!

Yes. A magnificent show.
