Last Son of Krypton
Jack found him in a Kansas cornfield, groaning, his fingers green and contorted. Eyes bright with desperation, he whispered, "Take me away."
So Jack did.
He was young, beautiful, and not born in Kansas. "Meteor rocks," he explained, over coffee at a diner five miles away. "I'm allergic."
"I was studying them," said Jack. "Residue from a planet that blew up sixteen, seventeen years ago. Krypton, they called it. I visited there once."
"How?"
Jack grinned. "I've been around. I liked the place."
The farm boy smiled back. "I'm Clark Kent. But... if you like... you can call me Kal-El."
