Woman of Ice

Toshiko crushed the pendant.

It was the first step to healing, Jack knew. Tosh had loved Mary; he'd killed her. A necessary death. He'd met Mary's type before. Insatiable, sociopathic, preying on the lonely and shy. Tosh was the prefect victim. So he had made the end irrevocable. Painful though it was, Tosh would learn the lesson she needed: don't trust too easily. Don't let your heart be stolen.

It was easy to love unwisely. He'd done it... too often. Love carried a high price. Only the cold-hearted were immune from the pain, and Tosh was not a woman of ice.

No, we can't forget Hiro.

Re: The Bennets & Peter -- The writers could pull a save, of course, but I think the chances of Nathan surviving are very remote. If he's dead, that leaves his mother, who wanted her baby boy to become a mass murdering bomb, as the only bio-relative Peter has left to turn to besides Claire. Assuming the poor kid is even coherent enough to use complete sentences when he's found, I seriously doubt he'll have much to say to Ice Bitch Angela.

At which point, he'll just go home with the Bennets. He'll be nursed back to mental health, while Bennet employs Molly to keep tabs on Angela, so that he can make sure Peter and his Claire-Bear never have to share space with her, as long as he can avoid it. Frankly, I don't care what Angela's backstory turns out to be. There's no justification for wanting your son to be a mass murderer and your grand-daughter to be an unwitting accessory to mass murder through Peter's absorption of her power. Bennet needs to just shoot her in the head, provided her power doesn't prevent him from doing that.

I don't know if Nathan can survive. I tend to go by the old comic book dictum that no one dies permanently, ever. We shall see.

Mama Petrelli is very scary indeed. Yes, a shot in the head would handle her nicely - unless her power is invulnerability or something like that.

I like the idea of Peter being with the Bennets.

There are already fics around the idea.

I must look.

I'd certainly like to see Peter rescued from his mother!

I have a feeling we're going to see some variation of the following:

Nathan is killed. Bennet and Claire bundle Peter up and stash him safely away. Meanwhile, Nathan's widow, Heidi, finds out or figures out enough to decide her boys aren't safe with Grandma and cuts off all contact. This forces Angela to try and repair burned bridges with Peter and Claire. This facilitates revealing Angela's backstory, as the writers have promised backstory next season.

I like that scenario; I'm not sure how close it will be to what happens.

Angela's backstory would be good, particularly if it shows the connections to Nakamura, Raines and Bennet.
