Bad Wolf
1997.
Ed Morgan always watched the teens go down his street. He particularly liked one named Gwen. Gap-toothed, lively. She laughed heartily and talked expressively. Full of life. Full of spirit.
He followed her home, and to the shops. He was good at tailing people. No one ever noticed him.
She was his. She didn't know it yet.
One morning a man in a greatcoat stood at his doorstep.
"Don't touch her," he said. "Don't even consider it."
How did he know?
There was something about his eyes....
From that day on, Ed Morgan was afraid to leave his house.

As for Gwen's 'specialness' ... you'll have to ask Ed and Suzie and Eugene about that!

Date: 2007-05-04 10:51 am (UTC)The scenario I was imagining is: after Ed Morgan's death, Jack was going through his things, and found hints - photos, maybe, or notes - indicating that Ed had been stalking Gwen when she was teen. So when he recovered his time travelling capabilities, Jack went back to 1997 to scare Ed Morgan off. So Gwen survived Ed's interest.
