I got this Shakespeare test from [livejournal.com profile] 17catherines, who commented in passing that she has read almost all of her "Complete Works of Shakespeare", which is more than I have done - I tend to focus on favourite bits (mostly the ones with sexy heroes: Hamlet, Troilus and Cressida, Henry IV, part 1, Much Ado About Nothing, for example) and there are some plays I hardly know at all. But I think I've either read or seen most of them at one time or another. What am I missing? Henry VIII. King John. Others...? I'm always a little fuzzy in memory about All's Well That Ends Well, but not because I haven't read it.

I'm sort of a hopeless Shakespeare fangirl, really.

So the only question I have left is: what question did I get wrong on the quiz?

You had? Wow... I don't think I can forget any detail of that interrogation. Him stumbling over the first lines of Richard just... crumbled me into helpless giggles, despite the seriousness of the moment! Honest!

(Well, I guess it does help that I had recently watched maybe 3 version of Richard, including the Laurence Olivier one and "Looking for Richard" of Al Pacino. The words were sort of fresh in my mind.)

"Looking for Richard" - what was that?

Looking for Richard (http://imdb.com/title/tt0116913/) was Al Pacino's project of making a production of Richard III, or sort of. It includes random bits of acting, research, and commentary. It's a bit strange, but I loved it.

I must find it!

I've always liked Al Pacino. He's rather odd, but in an interesting and compelling way.

Aaand not to forget a brilliant actor.
So many movies I want to see, or see again...

Yes. I can't think of any performance of his that I've seen and not enjoyed. Can't think what the last one was that I've seen, though - possibly "Merchant", which means it's been almost two years.

My last one was definitely the Merchant. *sighs*

Completely unrelated, but I just found this fic (over on Theatrical Muse) right after I got the notification of your response - bright and funny Obi-Wan (http://community.livejournal.com/theatrical_muse/9237644.html?#cutid1) fic... LOL (prompt was, "Time")

You're very welcome. [community profile] theatrical_muse is a good place for... recreational reading, there are some very good writers. (Of course, there are some that are struggling to get our footing, but still.)

It looks as if there's a good bit of variety there. I wasn't sure from just browsing it what fandoms are covered - and any all? Or are there limits?

This (http://www.theatricalmuse.net/) is the official site - there is a list of fandoms (and muses) there. There is indeed variety, plus a lot of original characters too.

What a pretty page. I like "No muses were harmed in this venture." - no, but some were used up, maybe!

LOL well often by "muse" (or "pup") they mean the player, the character from whose PoV one writes (and the writer is referred to as 'mun') (do excuse me if you are acquainted with the terminology... it gave me a bit of a wonder, when I first encountered it)

No, thanks for explaining, I had sort of guessed that just from browsing for a couple of minutes but I was only guessing, trying to make sense of it as I went along. I'm totally unacquainted with that kind of writing - excluding the role-playing game my friends I had had going through my teen years - but we had our own nomenclature and terminology.

I'm... very new to role playing. I mean really really. I started out at the Terinu forum RPG (which is very tightly moderated, and interesting, though going a bit slowly), then I plunged into a GreatestJournal one, and that's wild (though I'm feeling a bit dried up, there... despite the fact that one of my pups there is Lestat).

Then through [community profile] torch_wood I started reading [personal profile] rude_not_ginger's work, and I loved it (especially that fab, still unfinished Ten/Suzie fic... wooooh...), and from there and a couple of other places I opened theatrical_muse, and decided to start on that.

I'm sort of... unsure how to weave that into RP-ing. I mean, Christine is rather isolated in time and space. Besides, the most interesting part about the comm is that RP-ing isn't the point - it's the writing. I am rather enjoying the prompts and just cussing the fact that I'm so busy and can't pay them enough attention. :) At least I'm keeping up (which reminds me that I still haven't even found myself an idea for the [community profile] tw100 prompt...

That [livejournal.com profile] tw100 prompt is a toughie, isn't it? I like the idea but it's so hard to make anything gel. I'd like to do another one. But what?

*snickers* well how about the rest of us? I think about the time I saw the movie, it was one of three production of Richard the Third that I got to watch... think within a month or so.

Do I regret it? No. Was I discouraged? No! Just the opposite. (I think it might have been my stepfather taking me to watch Looking for Richard, actually).

Geek? *raises hand* and go us!
