Warren Ellis said today:
Also noted: 3 LBS got cancelled after two or three episodes. I never got through the pilot. It was a shameless HOUSE knock-off, and not even the wonderful Indira Varma could save it. (She did, however, return to make the best TORCHWOOD episode I've seen yet, blitzing the rest of the cast and gnawing on the script with relish.)
...Presumably referring to "They Keep Killing"? Yes. Indira Varma is wonderful, and I'm mildly sorry Three Pounds was cancelled because this means I'll never get a chance to see it - which is a good thing, if it's bad. Though Warren Ellis and I have different tastes in many things, I trust the honesty and intelligence of his assessment. I expect he is somewhat less besmitten by John Barrowman than I am, though we seem to agree on Indira Varma.

I hope Indira Varma gets a role in something else, something good, so I can see more of her. Hopefully in a nicer (but not less demanding) role than Suzie Costello.

I'd been wanting to see that anyway - didn't know she was in it. Thanks for the info!

Warning: As with many art-house sex movies, there's death involved. Sex = death. (The Jonquil family art-house movie rule: Explicit Sex = Death and usually Castration. )

No problem. I can live with a little death, especially for the sake of sex.

I generally prefer the death to the sex.

I'd say it depends on the death... and sometimes on the sex! I find the sex more fun to play with, generally speaking.

I guess I like it that life contains both.

Death - yes. As I said, prepare a lot of tissues. Lots of beauty, but lots of suffering.

In this movie, I'd definitely opt for the sex, though. Mostly.

But anyway, Indira Varma is the lead there, and well worth it.
