Some sad news...

Two of my budgies died today. Gambit died around 11 a.m.; Pryde probably an hour or so after that, though I was out, and didn't find her till I got home hours later.

Cause of death? I'm almost certain it was teflon poisoning. I'd been cooking some vegetables in a teflon pan; it burned dry. I didn't think much about it - these things happen - but it turns out that teflon fumes are extremely toxic for budgies. I had no idea.

Logan seems to be all right. I'm hoping that having lasted this long after the burned-pot incident, the danger is over for him.

Logan is doing well, though clearly shocked to find himself isolated and along. I let him fly around as long as he wanted to and he spent many hours on the curtain rods, going from one end to the other. Now he's singing an evening song, all by himself. I've been making a point of talking to him a lot.
