On the Trail of Philip Augustus...

Before work today I went to the University of Ottawa library to pick up two biographies of Philipa Augustus, the ones by Bradbury and Sivery, and discovered when I got to the check-out desk that my Smart Card has expired and I have to go back to the public library to get another then, then back to the OttawaU library to get a card there.... And the public library doesn't even open today until 1.

Yeah, I know, I shouldn't be impatient, I couldn't sit and read the books this morning anyway. I'm at work. Doing useful things. Right? Right.

Libraries: I love 'em and I'm happy they exist, but I want them to be always open, to always have all the books I want, and always let me check them out if I want to.

I never realized what a big shit libraries were to people until I started working in one. I always thought it was just me. Imagine my shock! Everyone else is JUST AS CRAZY AS I AM! :O

Yeah - I'm okay till next Sept. now. Thing is, I still have to get my Ottawa U and Carleton U cards separately, but at least now I can get them.

Most of our's expire every three years, but then we're on a much smaller basis.

Hah. Like logic and reason have anything to do with it! When I lost the sound on my pc after the last format, I was desperate to watch DW series 2. I don't think I've watched any of it since getting my sound back. But the point is that I could if I wanted to. *g*
