Collage...
Aug. 21st, 2006 06:39 pmI was away from LJ for a few days and now everyone's doing this - well,
Some of the things, I had to stare at for a while to figure out what the picture was supposed to represent! The funniest is the musician 'Slash', whom I would never have heard of except that he turns up in google searches for stories. It's rather impressive that where I had "Captain Cairo Azarcon" listed in my interests, the thing came up with a sketch of Ryan Azarcon by the author, Karin Lowachee. Who was there but who seems to have disappeared. Huh. She was hiding behind a book, anyway.
It makes me want to change or add to my interests, and see what other pictures I get.

Date: 2006-08-22 03:24 am (UTC)" Had to take it down. Apparently, it's straining Yahoo's servers.
Google has a per-application/developer token rate-limit and that will be exceeded very easily
I'm not sure how much caching results will help. There's a really long long tail of interests.
I guess this just has to die. Fun while it lasted :D
Nobody's going to want to do this meme in a week anyway."

Date: 2006-08-22 01:08 pm (UTC)Naked elves - oh dear! No, not your style. You could change them by clicking on them, you know. Sometimes you simply got more bad pictures but sometimes there was a gem. For "Dunnett" I got a bunch of pictures that I couldn't identify at all - perhaps from the town of Dunnett, if there is such a town? - until I found a picture of my favourite author. I did see a lot of anime sex scenes on various people's collages.... I don't think the program coped well with history or some of the arts. Pictures of auditoriums for my 'opera' and 'theatre' interests seemed rather unimaginative to me, in view of the interesting stuff otherwise found.

Date: 2006-08-22 01:46 pm (UTC)Possibly the loss of the original page has something to do with the missing picture. Or not.

Glad you liked my cornucopia of pics. Shakespeare - Clex - good things.
