Donne's sonnet 14...
Jun. 9th, 2006 10:01 amI just stumbled across a rather beautiful version of one of my favourite poems: Batter my heart, three-person'd God by John Donne. In which Donne begs for a mystical rape - and I don't mean to sound reductionist in so describing it; it's a strong poem.
I love finding such treasures online.

My favourite bit is where he compares himself to 'an usurp'd town'.
