While wandering around on this beautiful sunny day at lunchtime I found a copy of the DVD of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" with Rupert Everett, Stanley Tucci and those other good folk for only $9.99 at Blockbuster. O happy day! It's one I was tempted by at $25.00. At $9.99 I don't even need to feel guilty.

Sexy Shakespeare. As good as it gets. Wonder if I'll ever find the Branagh movies that cheap?

I'm pretty sure that I can find you a DVD of Branagh's version here for that price, since that's what I paid. You can play the same DVDs as me, right? Let me know, and I'll get it and send it to you.

If you can find any of the Branagh movies on DVD - especially Hamlet or A Midsummer Night' Dream or Love's Labours Lost - I'd love then! Yes, I can play American DVDs, thank goodness, and British ones too.

Seems to me it's been a while since we've seen a new Branagh movie. I wonder why.

I found you Branagh's Much Ado About Nothing DVD, and I'll send it soon. They didn't have any others of his, which was weird.

Branagh's been acting in movies, so maybe that's why he hasn't had a new one out. We can hope for one soon.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Gad, I adore that movie. Did you ever read my comments on it on my 'favourite movies' website at http://www.angelfire.com/zine/azurite/muchado.html?

You're very welcome. I hadn't read your comments, but I have now. Thank you for giving me the link. I love that movie. It's got such passion and joy - and naked male butts!

Indeed. Not to mention beautiful music, lovely Tuscan scenery, Shakespeare at his wittiest, and naked male torsos.

I wish I could see a version of that play with Katherine Hepburn as Beatrice. (Could Spencer Tracy be Benedick? I don't see why not, but I'm be more likely to cast Cary Grant.)
