What should a person do for a gall bladder attack?

It started about 3 a.m., and it won't go away. I looked online and found a site suggesting drinking apple cider vinegar in apple juice, so I did. It didn't help. Tried acetamnaphen, and the pain's still there.

I was going to work today, and make money. Or, if not that, get things done at home. No dice. I can't bring myself to eat anything, either.

And the pain makes me grumpy.

I'll be goind for medical tests in August, but that doesn't help me now.

Any suggestions?

If it's what I think it is (stones?), the answer is "go see a doctor. Like now, or say tomorrow".

This is from my experience with gallstones, and what my doctor told me, about 15 years ago.

To the best of my knowledge there are two treatments. One is a low-fat diet, the other is surgery. The diet postpones the surgery. The big downside to trying to treat it purely with diet is that it practically always leads to an emergency gall bladder removal.

I'd get the surgery at your earliest convenience.

A good friend of mine just had her gallbladder out after a couple of attacks & the inevitability of more if she waited. It's an outpatient procedure now, minimal downtime for recovery needed, & she felt much better as soon as it was done. Don't put it off!
