Wednesday...
Oct. 27th, 2010 09:31 pmMy first physio appointment since going to France. The therapist said that if I work very hard I may still get 'functionality' in my arm. She worked it hard, and by the end of the session I could touch my left ear with my left hand for the first time since June. It hurt, mind you, but it was encouraging.
Resolution: lots and lots of exercises tomorrow. Yes, really.
Other events of the day:
- Picked up my framed original art from the framing shop (Framed!), and had a nice chat with the woman there about Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett.
- Got my hair cut at Vey's - at last.
- Picked up the week's comics at the Silver Snail. They were late, so the Snail didn't open till 11:30. I puttered around and browsed the Book Bazaar while waiting for them to open.
- Watched a few Man from U.N.C.L.E. vids online.
- Had a dim sum lunch with Sheila at Mandarin Ogilvie. Delicious.
- Sheila then helped me set up my new netbook, and I helped her with shopping. I haven't alked about my new netbook, have I? It replaces the one that was damaged in France: an Acer Aspire One 721, the 11.6" one. I then spent the evening rather obsessively loading programs I wanted (IrfanView, Open Office, Firefox, VideoLan) and tweaking things - and learning how to use Windows 7. It has its challenges, but I'm very happy with the computer.
- Talked to
josanpq on the phone for a while, mostly about Cryoburn, which she read (and enjoyed) today.
