That's good news, but there's still no sign of an air date for Torchwood. *pout*

Point.

I want more Torchwood and I want it now!

But... much good that does me.

Looking forward to this. It seems like a long time since Christmas now.

Your icon is utterly cute but I can't agree with the sentiment. The World's Cutest Alien isn't the Adipose. The World's Cutest Alien is the Doctor.

Celebrations all around. I wonder if I should hold a video-party.

I see it's staying with Space Channel, though.

Which, I suppose, is apropos. But I still liked the idea of CBC participating in the revival in the first place, and I would have preferred that the Doctor and his allies remained with them.

Consider: this particular SF Franchise is one created by a public broadcaster. So having our own public broadcaster in on the ground floor of its re-creation for modern times was - is - a point of some national pride, I think.

Good, good, good, good, good. They did it right. They didn't cut it, they didn't mess with the time they put it on, they didn't fail to advertise it.

I still liked the idea of CBC participating in the revival in the first place, and I would have preferred that the Doctor and his allies remained with them.

I would say that if they'd treated it right. But they cut vast amounts of material out, the used an annoying CBC logo on top of the action, they advertised it badly, they skimped on the web page - all very annoying when the BBC treats it so well.

I don't think the CBC saw it that way. They should have.

I think there were those who wanted it seen that way. They were first overruled for reasons as yet unclear. And then the budget cuts started up again...

Groan. I want the CBC to be a bright and shiny and wonderful thing. They never used to let me down.

P.S. Whenever I grumble and rant about how much better the CBC used to be I really feel like an old fogey.

When I think of the days when they aired Captain Harlock as Albator, le Corsair d'Espace way the Hell early in the AM on CBRT, along with Cosmos: 1999...

Those people are under siege.

Yeah. Makes me want to scream and do something. I wish I was a trillionnaire who could bail them out, support them as they deserve to be supported.

If Jim Balsillie at Research In Motion could be roped in to start the ball rolling...? Tell him he'll be saving Hockey Night in Canada!

Wohoo! I'm on a serious Doctor Who run here, because seasons two and three were bargains on amazon.uk. Finished two already and lend it to a friend and now - upcoming episode Utopia!! The preview made me realize how much I missed Jack... *sigh* Have to do a Torchwood re-watch. After finishing the Leverage re-watch *g*
Oh, and I love Martha. *nods*

How wonderful!

It's so easy to miss Jack! (Though not so much, apparently, for the Doctor. He's in denial.)

Should I be watching Leverage? Is it good?

I love Leverage. :)

Btw, more DW goodies...

There is a chance to hear how Doctor Who is made, when BBC Radio 7 broadcasts a question and answer session with some of the production team this weekend.

The panel features current Executive Producer Julie Gardner, Director Euros Lyn, Production designer Edward Thomas, Brand manager Ian Grutchfield and Dalek operator Barnaby Edwards. They were recorded at the recent Celtic Media Festival held in Caernarfon in North Wales. Russell T Davies was due to attend but was forced to cancel because of his workload. Filming starts Monday for the next in the series of the four specials concluding the tenure of David Tennant as the tenth Doctor.

Questions ranged from why Doctor Who was not available in Lego to whether Matt Smith would cut his fringe before taking over from David Tennant as the Doctor and why the TARDIS is disguised as a police box.

The transmission is at 0000GMT on Sunday morning and is scheduled in a one hour slot. Radio 7 can be heard on digital platforms in the UK and around the world on the listen live facility. Following transmission the broadcast will be available as a podcast on the BBC Website.

Whoa. That three-parter... wow. JACK!! And the Doctor is in deep denial. Oh yes. Now I'm starting the Confidential things. Behind the scenes is always interesting.

Leverage. *laughs* It caught my attention because Christian Kane (Lindsey McDonald in Angel and my current obsession *ahem*) is one of the leads, but I fell in love with show in general. Timothy Hutton is the main guy and perhaps the most well-known name. What's it like... I'd say "Ocean's 11" meets "A-Team" meets "Mission Impossible"? Basically a bunch of thieves/specialists doing Robin Hood stuff for kicks. High-tech cons, explosions, but also funny and witty. Suspend your disbelief and jump on the fun train, as John Rogers would say. (He's one of the producers, together with Dean Devlin.) So if you like that kind of show, yeah, you should watch. *g*

Leverage sounds interesting. Comparing it to Ocean's Eleven makes me hesitate, since I found that movie unbearably boring, but in theory, I like the genre. I'll give Leverage a try.

I don't think I've seen Christian Kane yet. Someone to look forward to!

Oh great! I'm curious if you're going to like it!
Christian is in Angel Season One in just a few episodes, in Season Two quite a lot and also in Season Five.

I haven't quite decided whether to watch Angel chronologiclly with Buffy or not. I started doing it that way, and it didn't work well. Haven't made up my mind yet, though. Plan to do another Buffy commentary today.
