Willing, absolutely - I would love to, but am not entirely sure about the "able" part, unless you really weren't in a hurry. Maybe you could get someone else to do it as main beta-person, and I could provide additional comments whose level of detail would depend on how swamped I am by Real Life in the next week or so? Sorry to be so fail-y. I want to do this, but don't want to commit and then risk not delivering...
And yay for longer Doctor/Rose/Jack fic from you! :)
I want to do this, but don't want to commit and then risk not delivering...
I understand only too well - I've done that, and felt like shit about it. Life is life. It happens.
It does have a deadline - Saturday. Maybe I'll polish it a little and send it to you, with the understand that you don't have to read it and don't have to comment, but if you get a chance to, so much the better - ?
But I've never beta'd anything, so you'd have to tell me what that involves. ;-)
I have done plenty of editing of others' writing, just not fic. Oh, and I still haven't seen the first 3? series of Doctor Who, so I'm probably not the right person, perhaps.

I will give you careful instructions.

Shouldn't matter in the least. I'm not so worried about canon and plot details as simple things like spelling, typos, and sentences that don't make sense. (Even though they made perfect sense when they were still in my head. How does that happen?)
I'll get back to you on this tonight, okay? I want to give it one more draft before other eyes see it.
I have no problems with editing for spelling, typos, grammar stuff. That I have done plenty of. ;-)
Exactly what I need! I'm a terrible proofreader.
I think it's related to how we fill things in when we re-read our own writing.
Yeah. And to having a brain that refuses to work in certain ways. I tend to be so blind to my own errors - until they're point out to me. Then they're glaring.
tonight for you will be morning for me. I hope you're not in a huge hurry?
I have to post the story on the 31st, and I'll want to do another draft or two (because I'm obsessive like that), but otherwise no real rush.

Yeah, weird isn't it? I think it's related to how we fill things in when we re-read our own writing. It makes so much more sense that way.
With the time difference, tonight for you will be morning for me. I hope you're not in a huge hurry?

I can spell just fine. Type? Not so much.

Go for it, O mighty one.
(Now, where is my story-polishing rag and my little bottle of story-polish?)
