Then you would not have liked Winnipeg, where I grew up. Every January, there would be a spell where the temperature would go down to -40 (C or F) and stay there for a while.
... I would have hated it. I start whining about the cold when it gets to 5° over freezing point and don't stop until it hits 10-15°C again. 'm gonna emigrate to a warm warm warm country at some point.
I have no complaints with any temperature that's higher than the freezing point - you don't have to worry about ice, then. And no risk of frostbite. Makes it good for walking. I don't much like extremely high temperatures, either. I've yet to find a place that doesn't get either too hot or too cold, though.
It goes to -40C/F in Ottawa too, in January, usually. At least for a little while. But I think December 8 is too early to be this cold. I object. I'm not ready for this!
