[livejournal.com profile] maaseru and I have caught up on watching Homeland, having seen four episodes in two days, bringing us to the end of 'Q&A', which is a pretty tame name for such an intense interrogation. Whew.

Does the CIA really have the power to imprison Americans without a lawyer, stab them in the hand, and deprive them of sleep? If so, don't tell me. It's too scary to think about it.

Still. Wow. What a show. I don't know when I've ever seen anything on television with such intense suspense. Or with such good acting, which is what helps to create the great suspense. But really, the plotting... I am awed by the talents of Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa.

And with most shows I'm full of predictions about what is going to happen, but this one... I haven't a clue, which is one of the reasons it's such fun.

Tonight I watched the first episode of the second season of Homeland.

The first season ended with such a bang. I'd been wondering all along how they would resolve the story and still manage to leave material for a second season. Then it was clear how... The situation changed, but wasn't resolved. And the suspense factor remained high. What now?

So... now that Carrie is... )
