This was in The Sun. Warning: painfully cute.

[With thanks to she who brought this to my attention - I don't know whether she'd want to be mentioned.]

OH COME ON. That's it. I can't keep doing this to myself. Click on the link, I says to myself, what could be the harm? No harm at all, unless you FALL DOWN DEAD from cute.

So which one of them is the Tramp, then. ;-)

I guess it depends which one is the Lady.

No harm at all, unless you FALL DOWN DEAD from cute.

I did warn you.

I seem to have survived... but just barely.

Yep, cvute. You might be interested to know that this is one of those faces I cannot look at. Like the Martha Jones icon. Nope, not the pup!

I met a five-month-old Jack Russell terrier last week. Name of Maverick! Such a sweet little guy. Brown on one ear and his back, and very shy (imagine that! hee).

Maverick - what a great name for a Jack Russell! Shy? That's so cute.

(Here I am, wishing I had a dog again - !)

Me, too. But I can't, as my cats are a complete family right now and I don't want to disrupt that. I realize afresh about every other day just how much of a family they are to me, actually, and how much I rely on them to be there when I get home... they don't require me to talk with verbalized words, they speak to me with their entire bodies, and they never tell falsehoods. I could be just as connected to a dog, I know. Right now, I have a cat family.

It's remarkable how close we are. They communicate with me in their own most comfortable ways, and I accept that, and we all have very little stress from interacting.

I mentioned my four cats to my sister in Frostburg, and she said off-handly (she does still have that knack for saying things bluntly!), "You gonna turn into one of those 'crazy cat ladies'?" I've thought about that stereotype a bit. I have (and this is the first time I've put this down in a public forum) realized that elderly people end up having to deal with a lot of the same frustrations that I do: mine are from my normal hypersensitive senses, theirs is from advancing physical infirmity and the accompanying increasing inability to cope with daily stuff as well as they used to. They get overwhelmed easily. So do I. Well, having a bunch of cats (or dogs) in the house is soothing for those who are older and live alone: no stress! good company! good comfort!

I'm glad you have your budgies. They truly match you, I think. Such amazing little lively balls of feathers, such personality!

The little balls of feathers are certainly lively and interested in life.

Aren't people called crazy cat ladies when they have too many cats? Four isn't many.
