Does anyone know a good place to download fonts? I'm looking for handwriting fonts and futuristic fonts.

http://dafont.com isn't bad. And I made a font of my own handwriting if you want it, though the spacing's screwy as yet. New at this.

dafont.com is hereby seconded. I assume you're strictly looking for legit freeware fonts, or are you willing to take payfont recommendations as well?

I highly recommend Chank Fonts, too (here (http://www.chank.com/freefonts.php) for the free ones at their site). (Chank is a type designer most known for his fonts he created for Taco Bell, among others.)

And all of Larabie Fonts are free in TT format if you get them here at My Fonts (http://www.myfonts.com/browse/foundry/larabie/) (myfonts.com). They're a professional design house, and I recommend them highly.

If you're looking for something special, mail me in LJ, eh? Remember, this is part of what I do for a living: I typeset for the "big houses" and so have the ahem wherewithal to find what you need.

dafont.com has loads of both of them. There are quite a lot of fonts based on sci-fi films, too.

It's a measure of how distracted I have been for years ... I used to enjoy browsing font archives (but that was before free TrueType and Adobe fonts came along).

I too appreciate you asking the question.

1001freefonts.com is a good one :)

Though dafont is admittedly probably my favorite.
