Had a lovely lunch today with Marion and Vicky, at my place. I made chicken and asparagus crèpes from a recipe of [livejournal.com profile] maaseru's - she made the Bèchamel sauce. We talked about Stratford; they just got back from seeing Shaw's Caesar and Cleopatra, which we saw in August. They didn't like it much. We thought it was terrific, including the lively performance by Nikki James as Cleopatra.

Yesterday, I was feeling exhausted and crabbly. I woke up in the middle of the night with a bad sore throat; looks as if I had something coming on. I'm still battling the sore throat, but don't otherwise feel bad. So I'm listening to Torchwood: Lost Souls and cleaning up my bedroom - getting to work on the bags of stuff that got shoved in there when I broke my ankle and needs to be sorted before putting it away in its proper places. So far, so good.

Hope you feel better soon: maybe it's just the change in outside temperature? I find that extra rest and gargling with a warm water/salt solution (~1 tsp in 1/2 cup water) can often help.

I got the extra rest last night. (Felt good.) Now for the warm water/salt treatment.

I'd like to sleep all day.

I started watching (Nonnie influence) some series set at the Stratford theatre. Of course, now that I want to put it on my Netflix queue, I can't remember the name.

It's almost certainly Slings and Arrows, with Paul Gross and Stephen Ouimette. Yes, it's brilliant, highly recommended! Canadian humour, and Shakespeare, too!

There are three series, following three consecutive seasons at the New Burbage Shakespeare Festival. First year they do "Hamlet". Second year they do "Macbeth". Third season is "King Lear".

Groan. I'm not feeling good at all. Throat on fire.

But I'm dosing on aspirin and hoping for the best.

It's amazing the bags of stuff you can uncover in a bedroom even when you *haven't* got a broken ankle to blame it on...

I don't even know how it happened. One day it was a simple bedroom, with a few bags in one corner. Then after a few months they'd taken over the whole room. Bags with a ruthless imperialistic agenda.

I fear they do. And I can't even pet them.

Though I suppose it's just as well they don't make purring sounds. That would be creepy.
