I recently heard him say in some interview that he actually took two weeks off this year. We didn't notice because after something like a day of enforced idleness he was pacing the rooms and driving Scott crazy. So he went back to work.
You know I wouldn't be shocked if he was forced to take breaks *laughs* Honestly~! While I won't complain, I love seeing that man do... well anything really, but I wouldn't put it past him to be that annoyingly restless person on his time off :D
Personally, I would be burned out after one day of his schedule. He has this phenomenal energy level, and phenomenal level of talent, and he's doing whatever he's happy with. Life doesn't get better than that.
It just makes me think of what James Marsters was saying about him in all these vids from Dragon*con :D Where he doesn't let anyone be sad or tired or upset. If there's fighting, all of a sudden JB's nearly naked. If you're tired, he storms into makeup rooms shouting 'WHAT'S UP BITCHES?!' at the top of his lungs.
I think it'd take getting used to, but oh to shadow that man around would be pretty neat XD Hell, I could use a nice upping of my stamina~!
It's a funny thing: I'm a low-energy person, but when I'm around high-energy people my energy rises and (if they're reasonably positive) so do my spirits. It's like a tonic. So I think I'd like hanging out with Barrowman, or working with him. (Other obvious reasons aside.)
It does, doesn't it? Kind of off-beat, showbiz-y but good at heart. And it's for Children's BBC. I'd watch it.
If it isn't too stupid a question, who are the people in your icon?
It's John-Paul (James Sutton) and Craig (Guy Burnet), they're characters in Hollyoaks, a British soap. They're incredibly popular in the UK, but not so much known outside the UK, I think.
which will show animals with extraordinary skills that make people's lives easier and safer
Okay, if I *didn't* like John Barrowman (the brain breaks trying to imagine that scenario, but go with me...) this show would entice me to watch him. So I'm ecstatic to get two great loves in one show! Thanks for the heads up. :)
A VERY good agent will do this (see Tom Cruise circa 2000) a very bad agent will not (Britney Spears, circa 2007). And our boy John, needs it. Unless Barrowman is too scared of money and everything going away in the UK, WTF with the flipping dog show????
If you spread your "whatever talent" too thin, too randomly, to WHATEVER WILL BRING IN A POUND/DOLLAR, I think it cheapens it.
It should, shouldn't it? But Torchwood is (at least in theory) a cover operation and perhaps can't reveal the identity of operatives. Even prehistoric flying ones. For their own safety, of course.

Mind you, this does seem like a show he'd go for.

You're welcome!
