From [livejournal.com profile] kikibug13 I got this astrological chart.

It starts out well: "Peace and harmony at all costs" is your battle cry. Aside from the interesting oxymoron there, it's true. In fact the whole thing is eerily true, with the exception of 'you hate to be alone' - I hate to be lonely, but I like to be alone sometimes. The real clincher is the corollary: Beware of a continuing tendency to compromise yourself in order to avoid being lonely. And then: You have a unique and unfettered view of family life and will be attracted to experimenting with freeform styles of relationship commitments.

Heh. It's enough to make a person embrace astrology. Dame de Doubtance, where are you?

I find it vaguely depressing - 15 years ago it took me *rudeword* ages to make that little drawing with pencils and paper and looking things up in books. Now it's just a clicky. Mind you, is a much faster way to discover I don't believe any of it...

Yes, I remember reading about astrology in my teens and it was so arcane, so mathematical.

Computers are progress, they tell us, and I agree (just look at what Tosh can do in the Hub), but there's also something of the mystique that is lost. Where have those spooky old people in dark attics with round glasses and mysterious pronouncements gone? Transformed into computer geeks?

Hey - spooky old lady here. Well, actually not - but I sure appreciate the computer in calculating Astrological charts. I used to spend hours and hours doing one and it was still off as math is not my strong point.
I think that this is the best (or one of the best) astrology webpages around. You can create your own account and then, check in daily for a horoscope or other features. AND it's all free.

spooky old lady here.

Hee - not how I picture you! (You'd probably be surprised how glamorous the image is that I have of you.)

I have a number of 'how to do it' astrology books at home but I've never taken the time to really learn it.

And yes, I was really impressed by this page, best one I've seen online.

Oh hon - how sweet! I am so not glamorous and I've sent you an e-mail with photo attached to prove it. Let me know if it comes though OK.

I tried and my astrological chart bears very little resemblance to me!

eg:
Sun is in 15 Degrees Taurus.
....Very artistic, your hands love to mold and shape things.

- Not a chance!! I am so NOT artistic. Nor am I really interested.

Venus is in 25 Degrees Gemini.
...You love to play the field and thus find it difficult to settle down and make any deep emotional commitments.

- Umm no, been happily married for over 26 years.

Mars is in 15 Degrees Cancer.
Your moods are very important to your overall well-being.

- I am not at all moody.

Oh well!

Ah, well, it makes sense that for every good one there'd be a bad one! Thanks for the dose of reality.
