I got this from kikibug13 - in Chinese astrology, I am a Dragon. Yes, this is why I took the name fajrdrako.

Interesting. I too am a "Metal Rat" but have heard that described as "Rat on a Beam" instead. I understand that "Metal" refers to one of the other five signs (water, wood, metal/iron, ...) associated with the Chinese zodiac (and the reason why it takes 60 years to cycle).

Maybe you're the exception that proves the rule? - Which I've always thought was a stupid expression (unless you take prove to mean 'test', which is almost equally stupid) but also rather charmingly paradoxical.

I too fail at angry. And sometimes I think I live in an angry world. What's that all about?

And that's one reason I asked - I tend to know, sometimes, what sign people are in western astrology, but Chinese astrology doesn't get mentioned so much, unless we have one of those placemats in Chinese restaurants that have it all printed on. And then I never remember anyway.

So I don't know what other Dragons (or Dogs) I know in RL.

Oh, don't doubt it. I think it's more random chance than anything else . . . ;)

Most people I know tend to remember their *own* Chinese sign, but it is hard to keep track of everyone else . . . Like you, I don't have the cycle memorized, so I can't work it out offhand like I can the Western zodiac, either. (Another Gemini here, FWIW.) ;)

Right: remembering one's own astrological sign tends to be easy. And I'm more or less learned to remember (some) western signs by knowing general traits - I think of my Leo friends as outgoing, my Virgo friends as well-organized, and so on. Don't have those convenient mental aides--memoire for the Chinese set.

It does make it convenient sometimes though to know who is 12 years older or younger than you are.

Rabbits are private individuals, a bit introverted and withdrawn. People born into this sign would rather work behind-the-scenes instead of being the center of attention in any situation. Do not misunderstand…the Rabbit is not a recluse. In fact, he is a reasonably friendly individual who enjoys the company of a group of good friends whether at a business dinner or a holiday party. Rabbits just like to be a part of the gang as opposed to the leader of it.

I'm trying to think who I know locally who is a Rabbit, but I'm not coming up with anyone... I have two dear friends who would love to be Rabbits, but they're actually Dragons, like me.
