Transportation...
Jul. 11th, 2008 08:13 amYesterday I was unable to get Para Transpo to take me to work - I phoned too late. To my joy and delight,
Then I had to go home by (shudder) a real bus. I was nervous, especially about getting on and off the bus, but that turned out to be easy. What wasn't easy was standing or trying to walk when the bus was moving. My foot didn't have the flexibility to compensate for the shifting and jerky motions. Ouch!
Then I had to walk 500m from the bus stop to the apartment - I know how far it is now, thanks to Jack the Geonavigator in
So this morning, Para Transpo picked me up. They were prompt, traffic was light, and I got to work 45 minutes early. Hence time to post on LJ. I'm about to make a cup of tea. This is rather pleasant.

Date: 2008-07-12 03:29 am (UTC)This time he found the rabbit nest. He rousted out two little ones, one got caught, he ran all over the yard with it in his mouth, soft-mouthed retriever that he is it remained unharmed, and then he let me take it on the first try. Good dog!
See, we both had adventures!

Date: 2008-07-12 01:15 pm (UTC)I was carefully timing how long it would take the Real Bus to get me home compared to Para Transpo. The Real Bus got me home at 5:10 - that was exceptionally good time. The Para Transpo got me home at 5:11. The experiment continues!
The #7 bus has to go along O'Connor to Gladstone because Bank St. is being ripped up (again). It seems to have made it faster somehow. Or maybe it was just freak luck.

Date: 2008-07-13 03:30 am (UTC)No more dog and bunny stories to report. But the blueberries I picked that day are delicious. Cute cat story: when I was out in the yard, I came back to the house to see three little faces looking out the door at me -- Fog, Osiris, and the little tiger all waiting for their fresh green grass. So I found some good grass by the edge of the flower bed, out of reach of the mower, and carefully picked clean pieces for them... and it was all eaten with great happiness. Those little furry kids sure like their fresh grass.

Lovely thought.

I wonder what my little guys would feel about grass? I wouldn't dare pick any for them, too many places around here spray with insectisides. Only the finest supermarket greens (washed) for my little guys.

Blueberries... ohhh, yes. Wish I could share some with you.
Re: grass -- Oh, and then there's the little window herb-garden I mailed you, which may or may not be worth the effort and time... but I was going to say, pet stores sell seeds and sometimes flower-pot kits for growing grass indoors for one's cat. No reason not to give it to one's budgies instead!
