A whole day at work...
Jul. 8th, 2008 09:46 pmIt was a long day, a busy day, a stressful day - my first day back at work. Starting with my inability to log into my own computer. A little freaked by all the work waiting for me. But... that's okay. I can cope. I did cope. And it was nice to see Jennifer and
The Foot held out admirably. I remembered to exercise it every hour or so, and it behaved rather well.
I even had enough energy to go to Costco afterwards, for ice cream. Love their ice cream.

Date: 2008-07-09 02:25 am (UTC)Today, I found out what my schedule will be (effective sometime in August). I will be working long hours four days a week, including Saturday, but I do have Sunday off. Whether that means I can catch up to people is still up in the air ... more later on that.

Date: 2008-07-09 01:12 pm (UTC)They were good. Two of them have broken their ankles by falling on ice veyr like I did - in fact, it's Gord's crutches I've been using all this time. And Jenn, fifteen years after her fall, can still tell the weather by her ankle with uncanny accuracy. When I fell, lying there on the icy sidewalk, she was the first person I thought of.

Date: 2008-07-09 03:50 pm (UTC)Ice cream solaces many ills. And tastes good too. And the Costco ice cream is my favourite: really creamy, not too sweet.

Date: 2008-07-10 02:09 am (UTC)I like really creamy and not too sweet, too. I got a cuisinart ice cream maker recently and have been making my own. Strawberry and raspberry from fresh fruit. No sugar, just a little bit of honey. I was thinking I might try plum next. Or not. Or maybe fruit medley. Or banana peanut butter. We'll see what I'm in the mood for next.

Date: 2008-07-10 02:21 am (UTC)In Ottawa, it has the best soft ice cream in town, and incredibly good hot dogs, both of which cost less than anywhere else. They also have pizza and poutine and other such foods, but I don't know what they're like - I'm always too busy eating the hot dogs. Followed by ice cream. Not health food, no.

How wonderful! I find more and more that commercial ice cream is too sweet, and sometimes tastes of chemicals - not bad, but not the smooth taste I want.
Good luck with your ice cream flavour experiments.
Damn: I was just about to do yoga, and now I'm hungry. Well. Snack after yoga!

Have you accomplished the elusive and highly technical making a cup of hot tea and carrying it back into the living room task yet?
