I spent yesterday evening sitting just a few feet from John Barrowman. I was in the audience for "How do you solve a problem like Maria." There was something disorienting about it: I'd just seen him the night before on "The Stolen Earth", and suddenly there he was, all three-dimensional, a physical presence in the same room.

Very nice.

You know how people say 'he's even better looking in person'? Well, yeah. Those dimples.

Loved the show, which is more fun live than on tv, and will say probably much more later, but meanwhile... Toronto is on our doorstep and we're off to do some Toronto clothes-shopping.

Tonight: the Results Show. I hope Janna doesn't get axed.

Staring at John Barrowman in Real Life is a joy and a delight. Wish I could do it more often!

Those Barrowman dimples are... are... words fail me. And words don't often fail me.

They're a sort of fixed point in the universe.

To which the TARDIS is somehow irrevocably connected. What a thought.

The TARDIS connection to Jack's dimples keeps a balance of joy in my world.

That's fantastic! Enjoy the time!!! *sigh*

I'm dying to hear what you think of Torchwood series 2. It isn't going to be released in Canada till November - ! Isn't that a very long time to make us wait? Cruelty to Canadians, I'd call it.

Buffy's been waiting ten years, she can wait a little longer.

Torchwood S2 will be available on DeepDiscount.com on the 19th of September. I'm pretty sure. I could be wrong.

Could be. The release date in the US and the release date in Canada are usually different. I was checking the date on amazon dot ca.

Gad, that is silly. Well, you can buy it from DeepDiscount, no? Or I can. Because they don't charge for shipping, but for you they might. 'Cuz you're, you know, foreign.

I could buy it from DeepDiscount, but it would almost certainly end up costing me more, probably a lot more. I'm better off buying it from amazon, which mails from within Canada and so doesn't get GST or customs duty tacked onto the price.

November isn't so far away.

November? That sucks. Not nice!!

Yeah. Sometimes I think Canada is an abused frontier nation.

I haven't had time to write about (or watch) Buffy or Angel this week and it isn't going to get easier when I go back to work next week. Ah well. Sooner or later. And after next week - sob! as Supergirl used to say - no new Doctor Who episodes to keep me enthralled.

Glad to hear that you're feeling balanced enough to shop for clothes! I think that's quite an improvement, no? Hope it was enjoyable, not tiring. (Um, did the other stuff fit? I know you've been busy, but let me know.)

Shoppping for clothes was tiring but fun, because I was finding good things in a good sale. All from Cotton Ginny.

The stuff you sent me fits perfectly - you'd think I'd tried it on in the store. Perfect! Thank you! For a brief shining while, I will be so very well dressed.

Hee. It's as if you are emerging from a chrysalis.

I am delighted that the stuff fits perfectly... whoa, am I psychic, or what? Maybe I was a really good tailor in another life, and it's just karma? I'm glad it all fits. Now I know what size. I made overtime money this week; I'll get a couple more, if you liked the style. Yes -- so very well dressed! Inside and out! hee

Maybe you are like Ianto's father, who could tell the measurement of a man's trousers by the way he stepped over the threshold.

Cough. Cough.

I can't believe you handed me a line like this one.

Uh, or maybe like Captain Jack Harkness, who could tell -- something else about a man's form -- by that exact same simple movement? Oh, I can't believe I chickened out of saying it exactly! [hee]

It was Ianto who said it, not me! I'm innocent!
