Damn. Wish I could call it 'murder rehab' or something sexy and outrageous, like Captain John Hart.

Had my second session today, at the Riverside Hospital. First Debbie had me waggling my foot on something that looked like an inflatable jellyfish. Then on a wooden board that goes back and forth, like a teeter-totter for the foot. (Couldn't I improvise one of those here at home?) Then on a machine that looked like an instrument of torture, but was really rather fun: it looked like a candelabra with weights on various sides for me to lift them back and forth with the sides of my feet.

Then she did a lot of stretching and pulling of the foot, to increase flexibility. You'd think that would hurt, but it didn't. It was like a foot massage. That got us talking to an elderly gentleman there who said his wife rubbed his head while he watch sports on TV. I said I wanted his wife. He said no way. I love a head-rub more than just about anything. Some people have all the luck. But if the price is watching sports... it's a trade-off.

Now my ankle is burning a little and I'm going to get the ice-pack. But I feel progress has been made! More flexibility. Always good. Maybe I should do some yoga now, too. Feeling up for it.

I was hanging out the laundry today and wondering how your ankle was doing - in fact I was going to come over and ask you!

'murder rehab' I want to come up with some witty sounding title for it but I haven't long woken up from a nap so I more cotton wool than cutting edge right now...

I should be doing laundry right now! But then, I have a set of exercises to do - inevitably! - so I guess I'll have to do laundry tomorrow.

I reado'ed that as "Food Rehab", so I was ... somewhat surprised when I figured out what you were actually talking about.

Sounds like recovery is going well - yay!

LOL! Food rehab - I could use that, too!

Yup. Recovery progresses, slowly but surely. Time to do my exercises again. Already. How does that happen? Oh, well, I'm going to try watching Buffy while I exercise, see if that works.

Well, yes. More or less. And I got to see a lot of the flowers from Marcelle's car, so it's good!

Regarding Rehab

Consider that "rehab" is, often, something that involves a ... dare I say it? yah, I dare! ... twelve-step program.

No, it isn't! A pun. This is not a pun. Stop making that noise!!!

This is an uncanny correspondence, is what it is! You are confined within rehab for your foot... a multi-step program involving one goal: the length of Hadrian's Wall.

OK, maybe not my best effort, but I'm fresh from work and my shoulder hurts, sorry! Distracting, can't think the words into.

Now my ankle is burning a little and I'm going to get the ice-pack.

Very good idea. Did Debbie okay this? Excellent. (By the way, an application of moist heat might feel good on that, too.)

But I feel progress has been made! More flexibility. Always good.

Flexibility doesn't happen by itself... you have to practice your muscles and joints into realizing how much they can do. You're on your way.

Maybe I should do some yoga now, too. Feeling up for it.

Good for you.

I love a head-rub more than just about anything. Some people have all the luck.

Not luck -- money for gas. If I had it, I could be there in eleven and a half hours, if you leave the door open for me!

But if the price is watching sports... it's a trade-off.

I promise I won't make you watch sports. Okay, maybe curling.

Keep up that twelve-thousand-step program.

Hrgg.

one goal: the length of Hadrian's Wall.

Eighty-four miles, as it happens. Or eighty-four kilometres? No, miles.

Okay, maybe curling.

Only if it's Paul Gross in Men With Brooms.

I still like the idea of your rehab being a twelve-thousand-step program. Just keep walking, and your foot will return to its old self!
