Dodecal: Dreaming of a Lover

I wrote this for the latest challenge on svdodecals. The topic (in 144 words): "Chloe learns something about Clark that she didn't know before."

Dreaming of a Lover

It started out innocent enough, with Chloe and Clark studying together in the Kent barn. Clark helped Chloe with her math and she helped him with a poetry assignment. When they sat together on the couch for the assigned reading in History and Current Affairs, it was just because it was the most comfortable place to sit. The only place, really.

Chloe had no illusions. Clark would have been all over Lana.

But it was cozy, and friendly, and while they were reading he let her snuggle closer. He fell asleep somewhere among the causes of World War II and Chloe dozed on his chest, considering herself close to heaven.

Clark mumbled. He was dreaming of someone. Feeling bold and goofy, Chloe touched her lips to his, pretending she was Lana. No harm, just this once.

He smiled in his sleep and whispered, "Lex."

Yes, exactly the way I feel. I love Chloe. I love it that Chloe loves Clark. But she can't have him: he belongs to Lex.

AAARGGGH! The question is, what's she going to do with what she's learned?!

I don't think she'd print it in The Torch. Confront Clark with it, maybe? I think that would be her style. And then what? Hmm, might be interesting to explore.
