Champagne

Ianto woke in Jack's bed. Jack held his silver tray, a bottle of champagne, and two crystal glasses. "We're celebrating."

"We are? I'm not dressed for it."

Jack's eyes sparkled as he poured. "Love you naked."

Ianto blushed. "You don't drink champagne."

"This morning, I do."

"Why?"

"A year ago today, I destroyed the TARDIS. Don't ask."

It was more than he had ever said about his time away from Torchwood. "A year ago? Impossible," said Ianto.

"Forget linear time," said Jack. "It wasn't real time. Don't think about it. Drink - to freedom!"

"Freedom," said Ianto, as they kissed.

You know, I love it when Fic!Ianto blushes. :-) TV!Ianto never does, and I think he should, the minx.

Did I... miss... uh... Jack destroyed the TARDIS? I feel like an idiot.

Mmmmm, champagne kisses are just about the best kind.

This was such gentle fun. I love how used to each other you made them (effortlessly, it looked, but I know that takes work -- happy work).

I love characters who can move through time. There is always that thing of we create our own reality and there is always the ... shoot, I'm gonna go with a sociological concept here, but it's a logical one, so it shouldn't make you too nauseated... phenomenological aspect of every event having as many true realities/interpretations as there are people who were there to experience it. And then memory comes in. And then... well, gee, it gets fun then, is what.

I like how you said all that in dialoge and suggestion. Yay. This was delightful.
