Thursday...
May. 8th, 2008 11:00 pmSheila came to visit, with a Swiss Chalet chicken dinner, and Tasia joined us. They very kindly helped me put up my new computer monitor, which is the Asus 193T - a 19" widescreen. Funny how fast I can get used to the luxury.
And... nice how good my wallpaper looks: a Torchwood scene of Captain Jack looking through the window in his office. Widescreen and more beautiful than ever.
Sheila and Tasia couldn't stay long - Sheila had a meeting and she was driving Tasia to a bus stop. (Bus connections between my place and Tasia's are appalling.) But just as they were leaving, Lyn dropped by, with beautiful flowers and a Daredevil comic and two yoga books for me - carefully picked so I can do yoga sitting in a chair. So very sweet of her. We had a nice visit, and she said, among other things, that I was "so very easy to talk to", which I think is one of the nicest things one person can say of another. I was... chuffed.
Too bad my foot is hurting more today. So it goes.

I am now envious of your spiffy new monitor. Nineteen inches wide?! whoa. Enjoy!
What a sweet and thoughtful gift from Lyn. Please do give updates on how the seated-yoga goes (yes, this is a gentle challenge that you must start doing some!).
"Easy to talk to" is indeed a nice thing to say to someone. Such an interesting thought, that.
I am sorry that your foot was aching that day; hope it was just a transitional sort of ache, and not a pain signalling that your healing is not progressing. This may be something that you could have expected... especially if you are trying not to take as many pain pills. I hope it was not too bothersome or distracting. (Wanting to say: "I hope it was 'just a sensation'.")
Love the image of the white lilacs. Here, yesterday, I was driving around town a little bit (actually, trying to find my way to the grocery store parking lot without having to negotiate a six-street intersection!) and was delighted at all the flowering shrubs and trees I saw. One yard had brilliantly red bushes of some kind -- and I can't abide the color red, but this red was so pure in its simple, utter redness that I loved it at once and could not stop looking at it. Ah!

Date: 2008-05-10 04:02 am (UTC)My monitor is a thing of beauty. And largeness. Sometimes 'big' is good.
No real problem with The Foot. I'm sure it's healing as it should. Yes, it's just... sensation. Not suffering. Except the inconvenience.
