Torchwood: the serialized comic...
Apr. 23rd, 2008 01:37 pmLooking on Comic Book Resources to see their news about what's happening next with Torchwood, this caught my eye:
Just flicking through the new "Torchwood" magazine to discover that Paul Grist is drawing the comic strip. That is brave, clever, superb and all round excellent casting. Good call, unknown Titan editorial choice!
I totally love Paul Grist's work.
So: what comic strip is this? Googling for Torchwood and Paul Grist I found some info on hte Forbidden Planet site.
Damn - as far as I know, we can't subscribe to Torchwood from Canada. Grr.
Edit: I talked to Dave at the Silver Snail and he thinks maybe they can get the Torchwood magazine for me. Hooray! Fingers crossed.

Date: 2008-04-23 06:37 pm (UTC)I do too! I already read two of the novels - I'm waiting for the third now. It's fun to write about the characters and think about the characters and watch the episodes (and the DVD extras) over again, but - nothing is a good as a new episode.

Gareth David-Lloyd reads Lovecraft (http://www.fantomfilms.co.uk/news.htm)
A brilliant pairing of that dark midnight voice and those creepy-ass stories. Brrr.

I loved hearing Ianto's beautiful voice talking about the "tulmultuous waves of passion that swept through my racing heart". Excuse me, I think I need to take a shower. Or go to my bunk. Or maybe write some emergency Ianto/Jack slash. Involving creepiness.

Fanning myself now.
Jack never stood a chance.
No, he never did. But it isn't as if Jack is... difficult or resistant.

Yup. Funny.
I'm sure he was probably pretty eager to get started on that adventure!
I suspect so. He must have been so cute at the time.
Either his young soldier, or someone older who gave him a good education. :-)
Nice thought. Suddenly engendering a totally evil fanfic idea in my fertile brain... hmm.

Of course, it's all his fault, really, with those tumultuous waves of passion sweeping through his racing heart - surrounded by the temptations of the fleshly connotations on all fronts, I surrender in writerly despair. I am doomed. And thinking.
Your innocent, is, of course, unimpeachable. No jury would convict you.

And a very nice one, too.

Date: 2008-04-24 01:04 am (UTC)You do? You brilliant person, how did you do that?
Though Dave said he could get it at the Snail, Kin had said some time back that he thought he couldn't, so I don't know for sure yet. And it's Kin that does the ordering, not Dave.

I'd heard they weren't taking subscriptions to Canada. How weird. We shall see!

Date: 2008-04-24 02:23 am (UTC)They said the subscription would take up to 16 weeks to initialize. Feh.
When I subscribed, I put your address in the "send to" area, and it worked. Then I forgot to tell you to look for it! About two months ago.
Nope, I didn't subscribe you to Entertainment Weekly; but I thought about subscribing you to ... wait. Maybe that was the one. Um...!

There were eight or nine magazines in there, including three Doctor Who. Hm?
Yes, and thank you again.

Mysteries... no, more like, fragmented sort-term memory due to ongoing stress and trauma, eh? And so it continues. But... maybe I did? It seems to me that I thought about it, as there were several good issues in a row and I may have figured that it'd just be cheaper! Or, I didn't.

I ordered you a subscription of the <i?Torchwood</i> magazine; guess it's slow to start. Um... oops. For not telling you sooner, I mean. But, honestly, things did keep happening to keep putting it out of my mind...!
So... belatedly... enjoy! Okay, I'm going home to supper now. And away from the perfume-ridden undergraduates writing papers in the university computer lab today... ugh.

Yes, that's exactly what panic does.
