Looking on Comic Book Resources to see their news about what's happening next with Torchwood, this caught my eye:
Just flicking through the new "Torchwood" magazine to discover that Paul Grist is drawing the comic strip. That is brave, clever, superb and all round excellent casting. Good call, unknown Titan editorial choice!

I totally love Paul Grist's work.

So: what comic strip is this? Googling for Torchwood and Paul Grist I found some info on hte Forbidden Planet site.

Damn - as far as I know, we can't subscribe to Torchwood from Canada. Grr.

Edit: I talked to Dave at the Silver Snail and he thinks maybe they can get the Torchwood magazine for me. Hooray! Fingers crossed.

This means I'll have to buy the thing I suppose.

I really miss TW already. :-(

I do too! I already read two of the novels - I'm waiting for the third now. It's fun to write about the characters and think about the characters and watch the episodes (and the DVD extras) over again, but - nothing is a good as a new episode.

Which one has the most Ianto-y goodness? I can't be expected to make it till next season without a booster shot of my lil Welsh rarebit.

I particularly loved Ianto in "Adam" and "Fragments". And "Meat". Action-boy with a stun gun. Downright delicious.

Oh, I meant novels. Sorry.

But I'd choose those same episodes to showcase Ianto.

Yes, and Ianto is good wherever and whenever he appears.

Re the novels: I really liked his role in Trace Memory by David Llewellyn. It isn't a huge part but his relationship with Jack is fun.

Thanks: I'll try to find it.

Meanwhile, this makes me shiver, in a really really good way.

Gareth David-Lloyd reads Lovecraft (http://www.fantomfilms.co.uk/news.htm)

A brilliant pairing of that dark midnight voice and those creepy-ass stories. Brrr.

trust me, 'tame' is not something you will be calling Spooks soon...

Oh my goodness, what a find.

I loved hearing Ianto's beautiful voice talking about the "tulmultuous waves of passion that swept through my racing heart". Excuse me, I think I need to take a shower. Or go to my bunk. Or maybe write some emergency Ianto/Jack slash. Involving creepiness.

Imagine that voice in your ear, telling you all the wonderful things he's going to do to you tonight.

Jack never stood a chance.

Yeah. Whooh! Amazing stuff.

Imagine that voice in your ear, telling you all the wonderful things he's going to do to you tonight.

Fanning myself now.

Jack never stood a chance.

No, he never did. But it isn't as if Jack is... difficult or resistant.

I don't know about 'shy' but he must at one point have been a virgin. Fairly young, I'd guess. My current favourite interpretation is that his first lover was the young soldier who was taken and tortured by the 'worst creatures you can imagine'.

Aw, it's funny to imagine him slapping someone's roamin' hand away. :-D But no, I'm sure he was probably pretty eager to get started on that adventure!

Either his young soldier, or someone older who gave him a good education. :-)

Yup. Funny.

I suspect so. He must have been so cute at the time.

And look what you started! Of course, it's all his fault, really, with those tumultuous waves of passion sweeping through his racing heart - surrounded by the temptations of the fleshly connotations on all fronts, I surrender in writerly despair. I am doomed. And thinking.

Your innocent, is, of course, unimpeachable. No jury would convict you.

The fault rests entirely with those beautiful Welsh vowels, and may I say those deliciously precise Welsh consonents. That, and your filthy imagination. ;-)

The same jury would have to acquit you on grounds of you being bombed out of your mind on painkillers and boredom. Right?

I already have the Torchwood magazine on subscription

You do? You brilliant person, how did you do that?

Though Dave said he could get it at the Snail, Kin had said some time back that he thought he couldn't, so I don't know for sure yet. And it's Kin that does the ordering, not Dave.

Gaahhh! you messin with timey-wimey stuff agin!!! I all confuzzed.

I thought I deleted that comment, as after I posted it I suddenly realized -- um, silly person am I. When I ordered the subscription, I sent it to your address, and it took. I mean, they let me. People in Canada can subscribe; it's just not readily apparent, I guess.

How very interesting. When did you subscribe? Nothing has come yet - I mean, no Torchwood, except as a gift from Jenny - though I do seem to suddenly have a mysterious subscription to Entertainment Weekly. Is that your doing? I have no idea who to thank!

I'd heard they weren't taking subscriptions to Canada. How weird. We shall see!

I sent you a copy of the Torchwood magazine's first issue in the box with... let me see... your full-spectrum lamp, and the mug that said: Writer At Work -- Bother Me And I'll Put You Into The Plot, or what it said. There were eight or nine magazines in there, including three Doctor Who. Hm?

They said the subscription would take up to 16 weeks to initialize. Feh.

When I subscribed, I put your address in the "send to" area, and it worked. Then I forgot to tell you to look for it! About two months ago.

Nope, I didn't subscribe you to Entertainment Weekly; but I thought about subscribing you to ... wait. Maybe that was the one. Um...!

Ahh, I am so glad you have them and are enjoying them. That was the entire idea [g].

And I hope the lamp has proven to be helpful, too. Good timing, I had, to get it to you right when you'd need a second one to be out by the sofa with you!

Mysteries... no, more like, fragmented sort-term memory due to ongoing stress and trauma, eh? And so it continues. But... maybe I did? It seems to me that I thought about it, as there were several good issues in a row and I may have figured that it'd just be cheaper! Or, I didn't.

I just seem not to be able to disregard chemical smells wherever I encounter them. I smell stuff no one else does -- and this is with a head that's continually stuffed up because of my allergies (mild) to cat dander. It's a relief to work where I do, as we all come to the job ready to do manual labor (well, it's not desk work, is what I mean) and nobody really puts on scent... except some of the men. But then you just know that, and stay away from Timmy or Dexter till it's had time to dissipate [g].

When I do get stuck in the vicinity of chemical scents, I feel myself starting to get sick in immediate reaction (sore throat, stinging eyes and nose, stomach turning over) and then have to control my panic reaction. I think it is the panic reaction that makes me unable, then, to talk or write straight.

Beulah has the same problem, though maybe not as severely.... and Marcelle too. My guess would be that all three of you have a sensitivity, but with your sensory overload situation it makes it even worse for you.

I think it is the panic reaction that makes me unable, then, to talk or write straight.

Yes, that's exactly what panic does.
