Date: 2008-04-13 03:12 pm (UTC)That's so true. And sometimes - because of fear, or being wrapped up in our own troubles, or not seeing around us clearly enough - it's easy to be insensitive to the needs of others, and it's so wonderful to see someone who -besides being the biggest show-off on the plant, maybe - sees when others are in distress and does something about it. And we've seen Barrowman do that time and again. He seems to have an instinct about it.
I am reminded of the chapter in Barrowman's autobiography about his roommate who killed herself. I think the distress of others touches him hard.
I find it rather inspirational myself. I've yet to figure out how I can help others more, but I intend to try.
