Apr. 10th, 2008 11:04 pmI actually managed to write a few things today, despite my sleepy brain.

I would be nice to write more tomorrow without falling asleep in the middle of something.
Other accomplishments:
- Got my walker into the kitchen, briefly. Not really a good experience but at least I did it.
- Napped on my bed for a while, for a change of scene. (I've been sleeping in the living room.)
- Got a meal from Meals on Wheels, and it was good.
- read some Torchwood fanfic - just can't get enough.
The highlight of the day was a visit from Marion and Vicky, with a luxiurious lunch: salad, salmon cakes, and strawberries for dessert. Yum.

Date: 2008-04-11 12:59 pm (UTC)No, no, first wife. All my Aral fics take place when Aral is about 25 years old - basically the period following his first wife's death.
If I wrote about Aral's later life, I'd have to write about Cordelia and Miles, and though that might be fun it's sort of overwhelmingly challenging. How could I possibly do justice to them? I couldn't. So I stick to 25-year-old Aral, still struggling to sort out the problems he had then.

Date: 2008-04-11 05:35 am (UTC)Glad to hear you're slowly expanding your horizons.
I think the sleepiness is likely an inevitable effect of your pain medicine (and the fact you're not accustomed to them & don't want to be). Didn't Victorian doctors use laudanum (tincture of opium) to put their patients to sleep?

Date: 2008-04-11 12:55 pm (UTC)Thank you! I suspect Aral always felt conflicted about Ges - how could he not?
Glad to hear you're slowly expanding your horizons.
Well, um, yes, though there are horizons and horizons.
Didn't Victorian doctors use laudanum (tincture of opium) to put their patients to sleep?
I think so, yes, as well as a general painkiller. (Then as now!) I guess it works.

Date: 2008-04-11 11:05 am (UTC)Oh, and that Gwen Cooper enemy list was great! The one about John Hart made me snicker... and uhh, cannibals! *still shivering*
Good luck for waking up your brain a bit... *hugs*
