Where are you from?

A meme from vands88, and I really love this one: I've long been delighted and impressed that the people who read my journal originate from far and wide. What I'd love is for you to comment below, and tell me which region/country you are from. And I'd love if you could add to that one particular thing that makes your part of the world unique. It might be music, a TV show, a recipe, a landmark, a specific historical fact. Anything you are proud of, whether other people might be aware of it or not....

Please do post something - I'd absolutely love to learn something about where you are.

I'd have gotten 4 out of the 5 ahead of Mississauga (Toronto, Montreal, Calgary and Edmonton).

And yes, there is a Winston Churchill Boulevard. We live 1 block east of it.

The Niagara region has lots of lovely spots. It was a great place to grow up. Lots to do. No problem getting a summer job as long as you applied early. Great places to bike to, even long before there were bike paths.

Well - my cousin used to live on Winston Churchill Drive, on the grounds of a landscaper there. It was a cool place. She hasn't lived there in years: they moved out to BC after that. But I have nice memories of visiting her in Mississauga.

I've wondered but never actually asked anyone - does Mississauga have a downtown core? A business district? Maybe I should just read about the city on Wikipedia...
