When I got up this morning, I thought I'd lost an hour. Had I really been lazing in bed so long?

Then I realized it wasn't just me. Everyone lost an hour. (I really don't like this time-changing business... I don't think there's any point to it.)

And what a snowy world it is out there today.

Ditto. I don't mind it quite as much when we're gaining an hour in the fall, but still. I've had one too many days messed up by the clocks changing on me to be able to appreciate it.

It's not as if we have any choice... But I find keeping track of time confusing enough even without the change - especially when, online, we're always dealing with international time zones anyway.

I don't think we (as in Europe) put the clocks forward today.

Hopefully, I'm not just being more than usually clueless...

I don't know whose idea it is here, but it seems like an absurd one!

I have a feeling that we wait till the end of the month to commit our absurdity.

PS I really like the title of your post. :)

Why, thank you, ma'am, though I can hardly claim to have made it up all by myself.

Good artists copy, great artists steal.

Why is it absurd? If we have to have it, at least they've finally arranged that we get afternoon and early evening light much earlier in the year.

Though I completely forgot about it and had an early morning appointment for which I couldn't be late. Remembered at 5:00 in the morning that I had set my clock for 7:00am which gave me plenty of time, but that it was really 8:00, which meant I would barely make it.

"If we have to have it" is the operative phrase. I am unconvinced of its necessity. That being said, I don't really care when it is - early, late, whatever. I'd just rather not have it at all.

As for remembering your appointment - woo, thank goodness. Nick of time. Just as well I didn't have any morning commitments this morning, or I'd have missed them!

It certainly is a snowy world today. Tom was out helping the person across the street get her car unstuck early this morning. We have something like 2 feet in the front and 3 in the back because of drifting. It's gorgeous though. Like big marshmallows. And a bright blue sky. It's pretty cold though.

Yes - the whole world is big marshmallows! And at the moment, sunny. I think I'll go for a walk. Not a long one - I probably won't get far anyway - but it's worth taking a rambling in this wonderful stay-puff world.

Just think how many Weeping Angels could feed on one nationwide clock adjustment! ;)

LOL - so true! I think every statue in the city must be smiling this morning!

I think you have your explanation for the snow then: they're hiding their smirks!

No snow here, thank god. Tired of that snow stuff.

I don't understand why we do the time change thing either, and now we're adjusting it closer together (later in the fall, earlier in the spring) why not just get rid of it? I thought it had something to do w/ energy use.

Well there's lots of info on wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daylight_saving_time For some reason, I didn't think Europe did DST. Hmm.

My imagination, or is it really early this year?

Blergh. If I'm going to have jet lag, I'd like to be somewhere else than at home.

Yeah, it's really early this year. Stupidly early.
