A link to a challenge to write six-word memoirs. My favourite:
Fancied self as haiku. Was clerihew.
- Sam Leith
One could do this as a fannish game, too. Let me see....
Reprobate met Time Lord: everything changed.
- Captain Jack Harkness

Space-time continuum brought adventure through lifetimes.
- The Doctor

Misjudged, condemned, escaped. Searching for Mother.
- Francis Crawford of Lymond

Forward momentum sometimes led backwards. Drat.
- Miles Vorkosigan

Life inside, life outside: breathe deeply.
- Charlie Crewes

It also works for Shakespeare plays!

Conquering France: worth it? Not really. (Henry V)

Ambition's reward: head on a stick. (Macbeth)

Traveling by boat changed his life. (Pericles)

Fairies meet lovers in woods. Chaos! (A Midsummer Night's Dream)

Antagonizing the Pope gets you nowhere. (King John)

He teases because he likes you. (Much Ado About Nothing)

...this is fun! I may have to do a quiz like this on my own lj.

LOL - brilliant!

I love them all... "Fairies meet lovers..." Yes!

I keep wanting to add more to mine. I need to stop.

I may have to do a quiz like this on my own lj.

Oh, yes, go for it!

It is weirdly addictive, and a less productive but more fun way to spend my office hours than working on the conference paper I need to finish. I will post the quiz after choir practice (which starts in 20 minutes). :D

Sorry about the double comment, but the Miles Vorkosigan one is brilliant. It reminds me of a) the blurb for Memory ("Miles hits thirty. Thirty hits back.") and b) Nicholas Rosen's gorgeous haikus for Lois's books (http://www.dendarii.co.uk/FanFic/haiku.html).

(Thank you, Eileen Gunn.)

"Wired" ran a whole bunch of these little gems:

http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/14.11/sixwords.html

Some are kinda forced, but some (like Eileen's) you could imagine someone saying. In fact, I can imagine their tone of voice...
