Torchwood: good news...

Seems that the ratings for Torchwood's UK series 2 premiere were good. Extremely good. So that makes the likelihood of a series 3 pretty high.
Add to that the recent statement by John Barrowman that he still loved doing the show and was happy to continue starring in it if they were to continue producing it.
Many of my favourite shows - Firefly, for instance - have been short-lived. It's great to see the success of this one.

Not by a huge amount in either case, but perhaps it indicates that there's still not enough time devoted to writing/editing for the series? Or that the eps get rewritten on the fly?

I would say the plot behind 2:3 was about the right quantity, but had neither the snappy cleverness of 2:1 or the itensity of 2:2 - I found it predictable and fairly bland, but for all that, it had a lot of emotion in it, and there was something nicely classic about the story.
But yes, I think the plots need more work, but they're still better than most TV. (Me having a rather low opinion of 'most TV'.)
